It works the same as an external memory device. When you plug the USB into the computer, it should show up as another drive. Open the drive, then drop files in the correct folder....MP3 files go in MUSIC, and AVI & WMV goes in VIDEO,etc...
The ematic comes with software to convert video into 320x240, and it comes out great.

What you need to do is have your videos set to be converted by the MTV convertor that came with the device. It's usually on a mini disk.
You have to download the software and then input the video you want to convert.
The thing is that not any video will be recognized by the software. You'll need to convert most stuff to .avi files first.
For example, if you download a non-copy righted clip from youtube, you have to convert that to .flv format. (I recommend keepvid.com) Then you need to run that that to an .avi format. For that I would use MediaEncoder from sourceforge.
