Water pump or pulley most likely.

Always replace water pump and pulleys when you do the timing belt.

Also you may have overtightened the belt.

NOTE, Kevlar belts will make a "whirring" noise for a few thousand miles after replacement, but not a growling.

use a stick and wiggle the mounts on all accessories.
not running. P/S pump, A/C compressor , Alternator, fix the loose ones.
you can run the engine dead cold with accessories belts off.

Water not circulating in nissan micra. Thermostat changed. Fan works ok when bypassed. No noise from water pump. Engine runs quietly.

you will probably find that the pump impeller has disconnected it's self from the shaft in side the water pump, they are sometimes made of plastic, probably have to dig deep and check the pump as probably its driven of the cam belt, not that bad a job, may as well change the cam belt at the same time ,,,,

My 2005 3.8 grandcaravan has a rhythmic growling sound coming from the passenger side of the motor at idle. once moving it isn't heard. seems to just be getting worse and worse over time.

odds are the "growling" noise is a bearing on a pulley going out. Could be anything from altenator, steering pump, water pump, but most likely just an idler pulley. You need a mechanics stethascope to diagnose and then just need to replace the proper pulley.

Growling engine noise only at idle. Cam area

Take all of the belts off for a short run at idle. If the sound goes away it is pulley related, spin each pulley and listen for bearing noise, also check for play at this time.

If the noise does not go away when the motor is driving no accessories you have a more serious problem.

WATER PUMP WENT OUT ON A 94 HONDA CIVIC DO U HAVE TO PULL ENGINE ?

Does the engine still run but the water pump is just leaking?
The changing it and the timing belt at the same time is only about 2 hours work.
But.....if the water pump bearing let go and the timing belt was effected....and you bent the valves...(no more running engine) it is more cost effective to change the whole engine with a low mileage used one.

1999 accord 4 cyl w/new timing belt squeling noise increases with

You got it, the belt is too tight, and if you had it done at a shop, they may try and blame it on the rollers and pump, but if it wasn't noisy then it shouldn't be now. Those things however will soon fail if you continue to run it like this. Probably would have been a good idea to do the pump when it was all apart. but regardless, it must be tensioned properly and it's not right now.
