Likely a small peice of paper stuck in the rollers on the paper flipping side, or a bad sensor.

I have a kyocera ecosys m6635cidn. it wont print. it keeps saying cassette not installed out of nowhere

The "Cassette Not Installed" error message on the Kyocera Ecosys M6635cidn typically indicates a problem with the paper tray or cassette. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Make sure the cassette is correctly installed: Check that the cassette is inserted correctly and fully into the printer. There should be a click sound when it locks into place.
  2. Check the paper settings: Make sure the paper settings in the printer driver match the paper size and type loaded in the cassette. You can check this in the print driver settings on your computer.
  3. Check for paper jams: If there is a paper jam, the printer may think that the cassette is not installed. Open the printer and check for any paper jams or debris inside.
  4. Reset the printer: Try turning off the printer and unplugging it from the power outlet. Wait a few minutes and then plug it back in and turn it on. This will reset the printer and may resolve the issue.
If none of these steps work, it may be necessary to contact Kyocera technical support for further assistance.

Canon copier ir 2420 has a false paper jam

Copier paper jam indicators can at times be tricky. Ok so on the last paper jam did you have to Rip the paper out in little pieces?
* If so look that the little finger on the switch where the jam was didn't get broke and therefor in a jam position.
* If the switch looks good paper dust is another problem if you can blow it out with a puff air get a can of compressed air and clean out because it's an OPTICAL switch looking for light passing across when a jam happens it closes the path and a jam is indicated.
* look for pieces of torn paper in other areas that are also causing the paper jam fault.
* Make sure all doors are closed tightly and as always try turning off and on.
Now if it's pulling doubles from the tray.

** Fan Paper before putting into the tray, this does 2 things get rid of static attraction to the sheet above and also helps get rid of small dust particles that cause problems. A can of compressed air and a vacuum helps do some PM work.
* You could have dirty pickup wheels, they need to be replaced periodically but if you have been printing on pre-printed or 2 sided sheets then a simple cleaning may need to be done. One way is to put a couple of sheeting of clean white paper in the tray, Moisten (Dampen) with 99% rubbing alcohol (70% will not work), you get this usually behind the counter in a pharmacy no script needed. It won't feed the wheels will rub and by doing so they clean themselves. remove and do again till no more rub marks come off on the moistened sheet "Now Just Dampen no dripping wet! " this will help extend service calls.

Hope I helped.

Message reads:-Paper is jammed in the product. Turn off the product, open the scanner unit, and remove the paper. See documentation.' I have checked for any paper jammed, but finds none. I have even u

Did you try unplugging the power cord and waiting a couple of minutes, then plug back in and see if the printer resets itself. Also try checking all the paths that the paper travels through the machine for any scraps of paper that may have torn off during the jam up. Sometimes a very small scrap will prevent printers from resetting themselves. Also disconnect the printer from the computer before unplugging so the printer doesn't receive any signal from the computer. It may not mean anything.

A single sheet of paper has jamed, can not release it.

Clearing a paper jam

If the paper jams in the printer, follow the steps below to clear the jam:

Remove the paper stack from both paper trays.

Press the POWER button. Instead of turning off, the printer will try to eject the jammed sheet.

If the printer cannot eject the paper, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.

NOTE: Do not press the POWER button again before unplugging the power cord.

Open the rear access door at the back of the printer. To do this, press the handle to the right and then pull out the door.

Remove the jammed paper. Make sure no small pieces or obstructions remain.

Reattach the rear access door and plug the power cord back into the printer.

The printer will turn on automatically and be ready for printing again.

Reload the paper in the IN tray.

Try printing again.

My Canon MP530 indicates that I have a paper jam. There is no paper jam - I have checked and re-checked and turned it off and on several times and it is still reading that there is a paper jam. How do I...

Hello there You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Carriage jam on hp photosmart printer

The print carriage may get stuck on either side or in the middle of the printer. The Carriage Jam: Open Door, clear carriage jam, and then press OK to continue error message may display on the front panel of the all-in-one.

Solution
The print carriage is the device which contains the print head and moves left to right during printing.
Figure 1: Carriage Assembly

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below in the order presented.

Step one: Print a Self Test

Follow the steps below:
1. Press the Setup button.
2. Select Print Report and press OK .
3. The self-test page should print. If it prints a test page, there is no need to follow the remaining steps, as the error message may be false. Make sure the printer now prints from the computer (if installed on one). If it does not print, proceed to the step two.

Step two: Clear the paper path

Follow the steps below to clear the printer of any jammed paper and reset the printer.
1. Leave the printer on and then disconnect the power cable and the USB or Ethernet cable from the back of the printer. Do not reconnect them until instructed to later.

NOTE: Make sure the printer is on before disconnecting the power cord. Failure to disconnect the power cord from the rear of the unit can cause damage when removing jammed paper.

2. Open the top access door.

Figure 2: Opening the top access door

3. Make note of where the carriage is stuck and look for jammed paper. A paper jam can cause the error message and the carriage stall. Some paper may be jammed in different locations than those shown in the photos below.

Figure 3: Paper jammed on the left side

Figure 4: Top view of paper jammed on the left side

Figure 5: Paper jammed on the right side

Figure 6: Top view of paper jammed on the right side

NOTE: Do not use any tools or other devices to remove jammed paper. Always use caution when removing jammed paper from inside the unit.

If the carriage is stuck on the right side:
a. Check for any paper or object that may be restricting the carriage.
b. Move carriage all the way to the left side.
c. Check the paper path all the way to the right side and remove any paper still in the printer.

If the carriage is stuck on the left side:
d. Check for any paper or object that may be restricting the carriage.
e. Move carriage all the way to the right side.
f. Check the paper path all the way to the left side and remove any paper still in the printer.

If the carriage is stuck in the middle:
g. Check for any paper or object that may be restricting the carriage.
h. Move carriage all the way to the left side.
i. Check the paper path all the way to the right side and remove any paper still in the printer.
j. Move carriage all the way to the right side.
k. Check the paper path all the way to the left side and remove any paper still in the printer.
4. Remove the rear access door or duplexer (if installed) from the back of the printer.
5. Check for and remove any paper still in the printer.
6. Replace the rear access door, and close the top access door.
7. Reconnect only the power cable. If the printer does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.

NOTE: The printer may go through a warm-up period of up to two minutes. Lights may flash and the carriage may move. Wait until this warm-up period is complete before going to the next step.

8. If the Power light is on steady, print a self-test page as done in Step one.

If the Power light is not on steady and the carriage is still in a stalled position, proceed to the next step.

Step three: Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet

Verify that the printer is properly connected to a suitable power source by following the instructions below.
1. Verify that the computer and the printer have a three-prong power plug.
2. Remove the printer cable from any power strips or surge suppressors, and plug it directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall outlet.
3. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.

NOTE: If the printer prints when plugged directly into a wall outlet while disconnected from any power strips or surge suppressors, the power strip or surge suppressor may not be allowing sufficient voltage to reach the product.

4. If this did not resolve the issue, proceed to the next step.

Step four: Service the product

If you have completed all of the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service your product.hope this helps
