Ridgeway clock continues to chime continusoly

They should chime on the quarter hours, but it should be a short chime. Some help in the link, but it probably needs servicing.

This kind of repair requires a specialist that really knows his clocks, if it's a mechanical clock. If it's not mechanical, then you either live with it, or replace the mechanism.

Follow these directions:
1) Wait for the clock to strike the next hour and count the hour. (no matter where the hands are located)
2) Stop your pendulum at this time. (Keep in mind, the clock is right, the hands are wrong)
3) Remove the hand nut in front of the minute hand by turning the nut about a 1/4 turn with a pair of needle nose pliers counterclockwise just enough to loosen, then remove by turning it by hand.
4) Remove the minute hand by pulling it straight out with no left to right movement to the hand.
5) Place the minute hand back pointing to the 12:00 hour that just struck on the chimes.
6) Re-install the nut by hand, hand tighten while holding the end of the minute hand keeping it from moving.
7) Firming hold the minute hand and tighten with pliers an additional 1/8 - 1/4 turn beyond hand tight.
8) Re-set the time and you are done

check that the time is not 12 hours out and the setting is as if it is day not night

Is this a metal bar struck to chime? Measure old one and go to a metal shop etc to make a new bar

When was the last time it was serviced? The movement probably needs a good cleaning and/or oiling.

Step 1: When clock chimes at 1:10 stop the pendulum and record the time of 1:10.

Is this a older type mantel clock or an electric. A older one has a small arm on the back of the wooden case just move it to it's opposite position and that should stop all chimes. A few times that small switch is on the inside but very rear. If it's electric it also should have a switch to turn off all chimes.
