I buy all of my cell accessories/adapters like this on ebay. They're usually very cheap and ship directly from China. I've gotten some that don't work, but they usually send a replacement.

They're almost always under $5 including shipping.

SOURCE: Bent pins on docking port of iPod

The board can be repaired. The port just needs to be replaced and will cost you less to do this. Try http://www.ipodparts.com or http://www.pdasmart.com . They specialize in ipod repairs and ipod parts!!

SOURCE: problem with ihome and ipod nano.

yes, unfortunately the ihome iH9 is not compatible with previous models of the ipod nano.

if you want a similar device, there are many other docking stations for the ipod that are ip0 that ARE compatible with the ipod nano 2G

iH85B is another ihome dock which is compatible with all ipods after the ipod mini (including the ipod nano 2G)

SOURCE: IH36 iHome degrading

The problem is that the flat flexible cable which connects the dock to the main unit is breaking. After taking mine apart(!), I found that the point at which the cable connects to the main unit is flexed very strongly each time the dock is opened. Each time the dock opens & closes, it gets worse.

Replacement is a 260mm, 12 pin, 1mm pitch, flat flexible cable, AWM 20624 80c VW-1. I have yet to locate a supplier of this cable.

I have a new docking stationbut am unable to connect it to my old apple ipod canyou help please

Probably your new docking station is equipped with the new Lightning connector used by iPhones and iPads instead of the 30-pin connector used by old and newer iPods. Search on Internet to see if you can find a Lightning-to-30-pin adapter. Do not get a 30-pin-to-Lightning adapter; you will waste your money. The latter adapter is more readily available, but is used to connect an iPhone or iPad to and OLDER docking station equipped with a 30-pin connector.

Will my docs2go scanner work if I upgrade to an iPad Air and use a 30pin to fire adaptor

Not all 30 pin to fire adopters work the same. Some none Apple adopters ply work for charging. And not all hardware, will work with the adopter. Just take your doc3go into an Apple store with your adapter and ask if you can try this on a new iPad with lightning connector. Or if you don't have an adopter ask them a connector too.

New iphone 5 does not fit on the base

They do make an adapter that you can purchase from the Apple store. This was a common issue when Apple switched from the 30 pin connectors to the new lightning ports which are much smaller.

My iPod has a bigger case so not I won't fit on my ihome I only use my ihome for music but my iPod won't fit so I bought an aux cable for my IPod, wene I plugged it in it didn't work the cable worked

Your video ran out. Anyway, you could try using an adaptor so your iPod will sit on your music box. If that fails, connect via your aux lead, gently pull your aux lead out of the back of the box gently and slowly giving it a wiggle, you might make the connection. Other than this, as you've not provide enough footage, you might need to buy a new aux cable that fits. Not all products are compatible with iDevices, you should check the instructions to see if your model of iPod is compatible.

I bought an iPod adaptor for my 2008 Altima and it has been working great for a few years now with my iPhone 3. I recently upgraded to iPhone 4 and the adaptor portion still works to play music but it...

Since the 30 pin connector on your iPhone is an outdated connector (newer iPhone have lightning connector ) , you may have a challenge finding accessories for that model.
the easiest fix might be to use 30 pin connector for charging and headphone port for audio, unless you can find a splitter cable
I did some searches myself for a dual type 30pin connector for your iPhone 4, but I see very little in the way of any accessories that might work as a workaround

Welcome to the wonderful world of the iHome frying the Ipod.
Your iHome, has most likely fried the mainboard on your ipod.
to check plug a usb into the ipod and connect to the computer.
if it comes up disconnect the usb and try a headphones in the jack.
if it doesn;t play sound its fried and you will need a new mainboard.
if it does play through the headphone jack, your lucky and keep it off the dock.

I have fixed at least 30 ipods taken out by ihome docks and other docks.
they are terrible for the ipod. Even Apple sells the docks on their website
that shows how much they care about the product.

If this helps leave a vote on fixya

Tried ipod speakers with sansa. Screen went blue and sound went bad.

Dear seren, If you are having trouble with your mp3 player, and you haven't taken it apart, all screws are intact on the backside of the sandisk e250, then you might be able to get it replaced by sandisk, but a hint: don;t ever put your sandisk into an Ipod dock, such as an Ihome. They might have the 30-pin connector similar to the sandisk's, and they might fit into your sandisk, but the Ihomes have a different voltage level than the sandisk's chargers. now, if you want to get an Ihome for your sandisk, Griffin, Macally and DOP brands have chargers, Ihomes, and dock ports made just for the sandisk. Hou do i know this, you ask. Because i have done the same exact thing, but i took mine apart to see what's wrong. It ruins the capacitors and overdrives it. but you can buy the right kind of capacitors at a nearby Radio Shack, but it very difficult to put it on. You have to get the one originally on it off, and that one's soldered ontop the motherboard. then you have to get the other one in just the right spot/ place, and then you have to solder the new capacitor onto the unit without get any solder on the gold linings. This is all i can do for you, the rest is up to you. GOOD LUCK!!! Wild2DMaxx
