If you did not fully charge the battery before the first use then you could have damaged it. Try charging it fully and using it again. If that does not work, take it back.

try holding the volume up button and then power it on ( keeping the volume up button pressed in ) if you get a menu just click restart tablet. you will loose everything if you reset with pin but some tablets have a hard reboot option like i described but it wont delete anything
Mabe you can solve issue doing a Factory Reset of your unspecified tablet. Check it's manual or if you don't have one, you can do a google search for

I am not directly familiar with your particular tablet, but try this.
Locate the reset button's access hole - usually a tiny hole either on the back of the tablet or on the edge near the various ports and connectors. If you have a manual for the Tablet, it should tell you the location of the Reset button.
Press the button by inserting a paperclip or similar GENTLY into the hole. PLEASE MAKE SURE IT'S NOT THE MICROPHONE HOLE YOU"RE LOOKING AT.
You should feel a soft click when the recessed 'Reset' button is depressed. Hold it down for about 10 seconds, after which the Tablet should reboot itself, and hopefully will now run normally again.
Note that you WILL NOT lose any data or settings by resetting your Tablet this way - it merely restarts the microprocessor which may have frozen.
First try for a factory data reset.

To reset you tablet manually. you have to
1)switch of your tablet
2)hold volume down button and power button at the same time.
3)wait for 10 sec and you will enter into boot menu.
4)there in the boot menu you will find option named Reset factory default settings/reset user data. select that option
5) wait for resetting......
6)cheers your done.
Try a hard reboot by pressing and holding the power button and select the option to restart the tablet. If unsuccessful check the manual or find instructions for that particular model and do a full reset/re-initialization. You will lose the settings and data if you do this reset.
First make sure your charger is working properly. Check it with a volt meter or use a friends charger that you know is working. Charge your Coby Kyros for 4 hours. Use a small needle and gently insert in into the "reset" hole on the back cover on the left side. Hold it down for 5 seconds then release. Try restarting your tablet. If these don't work, you will have to get professional help to check it out.
Do a hard reset. Hold the power button down for twenty seconds. This is a hard reset if this does not solve the problem I recommend returning it as this is more than likely a manufacturer issue
Avoid resetting to often your tablet. This makes the system worse. May be you are running to many operations at the same time the tablet cannot handle. I advise you close the task before you start a new one.
