Re: need the adapter for the non standard cable connector...

Your Samsung SM940MW supports multiple TV and video signal formats including NTSC, PAL, and SECAM making it multi-system.

The aerial/cable input follows the European standards. What you described as "screw on connector that has a female center" is better known as a "PAL" connector whereas the US uses the "FP". What you need then is a female FP-5 to male PAL adapter.

This page would list most of the common adapters for such a purpose. Perhaps you can print it out and show to the salesperson when you go looking for one.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Trying to convert dvi to hdmi for my ps4. I can play the game and the picture is fune, but i have ni sound. What do i need to do?

You will need an HDMI to DVI adapter with audio. The DVI end of the cable should have both the DVI connection as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. You would then plug your speakers directly into the jack. If the jack is a male connector, you will need a female-to-female coupler.

I moved the Mintek Tv from my bedroom to the living room, the tv cable cord will not screw into the Tv, I was told that I need a adapter, coax to av-rca, is this correct? What do you think?

Not sure due to lack of information to go on
I. think you need a tv coaxial female to f plug male adapter
really depends on the TV cable cord what is the gender of the end of the cable if it is coaxial male then the adapter needs a female coxial
if the tv has a female socket hole then the f type part of adapter needs to be a male.

The tv manual may shed some more info on the type of RF antenna coaxial connector. it uses.
RCA can be confused as av is to do with with hooking up a Video recorder with Video output being the yellow plug and audio with Red and white plugs.
I think you need a RF coaxial adapter rather than AV RCA if you are connecting tv to a tv antenna or tv antenna splitter device.
there is a RCA standard that has adapter like below link
again gender types are needed to be considered before deciding if correct type of adapter..
You could research the rca rf standard to see if it is used in your country. My country uses Pal coaxial standard.

Can I hook Soundblaster speakers to a dongle that goes on a tv

If your speakers are the logitech z-680s or logitech z-5500s, then it's actually really easy- they have built-in home theater connectors you can use to connect the units up, if your TV has an optical or digital Coax connection.

However, from your question, I would assume you are using a completely different set of speakers- the creative sound-blaster series. in which case, I would probably steer you towards an adapter. an RCA - to 3.5mm female adapter, (such as this: ) should do the trick. After you connect this to the speakers and the "out" A/V jacks on your TV- you should be in business. ;-)

also depending on your setup, if you have a cable box and would rather hook them up through there, you can do that too!.

Hi, sorry but Most LG's no longer have audio outputs. The easiest way to get it ,You need to take the audio output from the source i.e. "cable box output"..if you have of course...
However whether your TV has this output or not we need to make some tests..5 different connections possibilities provided below.
(not by can start with any of it ).Below ,there is a sample TV back panel picture as well
1) 2x RCA ports red / white is audio out ( L + R ) of TV to Stereo..
2) You can get also the audio digital output from the TV to a A/V receiver. the tv's optical audio out is stereo only mainly designed for freeview or tv audio to be output,
set the audio ouput on the TV menu to Dolby Digital, connect a digital optical out directly to the A/V receiver to receive audio signals.
3) since your TV has :2 x HDMI, SCART, AV, Component Video, VGA-sub, USB 2.0, connections, you may use the SCART plug to get Audio output for your TV .
TV's SCART connector which has 21 pins and "2x Audio Output " pins should be in it.
you need to buy an adapter called " RGB Scart Male to 3 RCA AV Female Adapter Converter" that can easily be found any electronic example as found eBay URL is below..
After you get this adapter, you need to carry the audio signal from SCART's RCA plugs to your Receiver with a 2x RCA (white/red ) cable.(if this does not work ,mfg should state somewhere in the your TV's "SCART socket IN only" ) if you properly connect IN/OUT plugs you will able to get the audio signal of the TV thru stereo..I recommend 2 $ value "RGB-Scart-Male-3-RCA-AV-Female-Adapter-Converter" with IN/OUT switch on it.
4) use HDMI connection of TV if you have HDMI input on your stereo of course...
5) if these are not an audio-out on one of these connectors , so you'll need to use the headphone socket if you want to plug it into a stereo. you need a cable 2x RCA to 3.5mm Headphone jack.
( This is the last ditch solution , since it mutes the whole sound.) ..
NOTE: if you connect this, pls be careful, your TV voice level will drive the stereo volume....

Hope this helps!..if more help requires Would you please let me know the result ?
Take care and please

How to connect headphones

  1. This TV doesn't have a standard 1/8" stereo jack, so you must use the RCA connectors on the back of the TV.
  2. Purchase a 2xRCA Male / 1x3.5mm Stereo Female Y-cable, such as the one available here.
  3. You will also need a set of headphones, preferably a powered set.

Is it possible to replace the HDMI input connector of my Samsung LNR408DX/XAA? What is the exact name or code/type etc for replacement of the HDMI female connector of my Samsung LNR408DX/XAA? I seem to...

Re soldering the sockets connections on the pcboard will normally fix this problem. It is unusual to require a socket but possible. Sockets are available through a good electronics outlet, depending on your country.

I do not see a standard cable input on the there an adapter to connect standard cable line to the antenna input?

if the TV has 2 screws for an antenna connection then you could use what is called a BALUN aka matching transformer. you can buy them at a dollar store. it has a male cable connection and 2 wires.

I am surprised that an LCD TV would have an antenna connection, they are from the days before cable TV.

if your TV does not have a cable input you can use an old VCR as a tuner
or buy an RF converter (but they are overpriced IMO)

you would plug the TV cable into the VCR and use rca cables red,and white for right and left audio, and yellow for video

Broken sayno part

Hi wingshooter,

Your son is right. the 2 screw of the male should be fasten
to the hole of the female dvi. replacing the whole part
need careful de-soldering.

However, if the shield is still there and only the hole where
to screw in the male end of the cable, you can get from
old computer discarded around. you only have to remove
the two hex screw and replace it into your DVI female.
Observe that the head of these screws are hex, six corners,
and the hole is threaded. that threaded hole is where to screw in
the screw attached to your male DVI socke

Good luck,

Cable in connection

Most TV models/cable providers uses the F type of coaxial connector as shown below. 7c21c7e.jpg
However, some versions intended for other regions (Europe & Middle East) uses the PAL type of connector likewise shown below.
If your model uses the latter and your cable provider uses the F type, what you need is a straight F type Female to PAL Male adapter. Or it could even be just the other way around.
They are available in most electronic parts/supply store or online. You can try here, here or here.

Hope that this be of idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up, r should you need additional information and/or if your cable connectors are of different types. A photo of the connectors would be nice.

Good luck and kind regards.
