More than a single answer- there is a thermistor or thermocouple that monitors the oven temp. and this can fail.
The electronics that do the regulation using input from one of the mentioned devices can fail.
Any service tech should be able to answer quickly but one needs to be on-site to determine which is at fault.

Electric fan oven

Sounds like the oven thermostat stuck, for whatever reason and then the oven overheat thermostat kicked in. At the very least, I think you will need a new oven thermostat and possibly an overheat one as well. On the 720 there are two, one for each oven, so when you take the oven to bits, check both out.

F2 reading and steady beeping sound on GE spectra oven after oven has been on.....how do i fix

The F2 error code is for the temp sensor. The temp sensor is mounted inside the oven cavity & regulates the oven set temperature. If the temp sensor fails the oven could overheat. This is what generates the error codes. I recommend having the temp sensor checked with an ohm meter, at room temperature the sensor should ohm out at approx 1100 ohms. If the sensor checks ok, then the control will need to be replaced.

When turning the oven on it will not start up

Assuming the clock/timer has not been accidentally set, and this is what is turning it off, does everything go off on the oven including the lights and the display on the oven control?
If it does, then it could be the oven overheat thermostat kicking in.
Also is the cooling fan running normally in the background because if it isn't, this will cause the oven to overheat.

Hello, My Jenn Air oven overheats. When I set

The temp probe resistance should read between 1050 and 1150 ohms. If not. Replace it.It causes the overheating situation you describe.

Oven overheats

depending on madle you either have a bad themostat, or the newer ovens use an electronic thermistor, not sensing proper temp and shutting off
