well technically 2 ports can be on the same circuit even if there split. Since you cant use both at once it makes since it would work for either or or. I am confused on your problem. answer these for me please?
why did you need a splitter if you have 2 HDMI imputs?
what are you pluging in into the t.v?
I look forward to helping you.
You didn't fully expain how each device is connected to the others. I don't think you have this set up correctly. Your DVD cannot record in HD so there is no point sending an HD signal to it - it can't process it. This is how I would set it up:
1. Install a 2-way splitter on the input cable
2. Connect output 1 from the splitter to the Humax receiver
3. Connect the Humax receiver to the TV with an HDMI cable
4. Connect output 2 from the splitter to the DVD
5. Connect the DVD to the TV with SCART cable.
This will enable you to watch HDTV via the digital receiver and also provide an input from source (dish/cable) to your DVD player so that you can record.
If you've already set it up this way then it should work. I suspect you've connected the Humax to the DVD and TV and also the DVD to the TV.
Please try this setup and post back if you need further assistance.
Are u using HDMI/1 hook up HD box and signal? The HDMI/1 port still work?Do u use the device in the HDMI/1 port lately dose it work?Replaced the HDMI cable,Unplug the tv about an hour, plug it back in,reset it back to factory setting again.See if this work, not than ur HDMI/1 is shorted.
I had the same problem at 1 year after purchase. I was upset. In addition to looking here, I also emailed the company. They took a month to get back to me, but their solution worked perfectly.
"Try resetting the unit by pressing VCR/DVR and the standby/on button at the same time on the front of the unit while it is turned on. The unit will display CLEAR and shut down. All settings will be erased. "
All my components connect without any problem now. Hope this helps.
When I purchased the television iI was told that I would only need a HDMI cable to connect the devices together, this is not true as the HDMI only provides 1 way transmission, to get the sound to go from the television back to the home cinema you need to use either a Phono Lead or Optical lead, plug them in and Hey Presto it works.
