The problem with MHL to HDMI is that there are two versions.

a 9 pin and a 11 pin.
Samsung S3 and below use 9 pin and S4/Note3/etc and up use the 11 pin.

Not all samsung use MHL but the S4 does.

Make sure you have the right MHL cable for your device.

I have encountered this problem personally and have bought a universal cable which covers both versions.

My brother has a Sony and also had wrong cable.
Now it works fine with correct cable.

Probably your TV is not MHL-enabled. Check the link below and then follow the link at the bottom of that web page. The link is named MHL-Enabled Product List. When you get to that page, click on the 'Display' icon.

What is MHL and why should you care

How can I connect my Samsung Galaxy Tab A using a HDMI cable to my Tv

Most of the Galaxy Tab A models do not support an MHL signal with an adapter between the micro-USB port to HDMI port. To connect it to a TV, you'd need a Chromecast or similar device connected to the HDMI port of the TV. Then connect your tablet to the Chromecast for screen-sharing. For some TVs with wi-fi, you can use the All-Share app instead.

This is the case for the Galaxy Tab A (2016) 10.1" model. I don't see any Galaxy Tab A devices with MHL support here: http://www.mhltech.org/devices.aspx . Samsung stopped providing the MHL connections on most of the devices by 2015, depending on the country where the device was sold. See http://blog.clove.co.uk/2014/02/05/mhl-adapter-samsung-galaxy-need/ . To check your device, look at the micro-USB port, if it has 11 pins then it might support MHL.

I wish that I had better news for you. Please add a comment with the generation/year of production for your Galaxy Tab A for further information about the specifications.

I need to know if I can use a MHL adapter to connect a Samsung S5 to my Westinghouse VR- 4090 tv?

No need to use MHL your phone is capable of casting without wires to your Walmart TV

you need to buy chromecast see links below it amazing

The Google Chromecast is a cheap, simple way to stream video content right to your TV. the $35 Chromecast plugs into your TV and grants easy access to multiple streaming services, from Netflix and YouTube to Hulu and Google Play. You can even throw content from your Chrome browser to the big screen.

Is LN40C630K1F samsung tv compatible with MHL? If not how do i get my phone mirrored on my TV, is there a way?

The Samsung LN40C630K1F is not MHL compatible. The HDMI port on the TV doesn't understand the signal from the tablet directly. You need an MHL to HDMI adapter: http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters%C2%AE-Adapter-integrated-Charging/dp/B00ESM3Q7K/ref=pd_sim_107_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1A2PE0271GRC99HNF1G9 , instead of an MHL to HDMI cable. Be sure to make sure that the adapter is compatible with your phone. (Not all adapters work with all makes/models.)

I hope this helps.

I am trying to connect LG 32LC7D TV to my new Samsung Tab 3 7.0 via HDMI. I bought the MHL adapter and HDMI cable, connected to Samsung Tab charger and connected to TV, but the table and the TV don't...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (SM-T21XX) does not support MHL. The Tab 3 8.0 does support MHL.

The manual for the Tab 3 7.0 is available on the product page: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/galaxy-tab-3-7-0-wi-fi . The only TV feature listed is using Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 as a remote control for your television. You need to accept the Samsung terms of use to download the manual (expand the section on languages).

I wish that I had better news for you.

Can a XtremeCables micro HDMI cable work on a Galaxy S4 phone?

Not directly. The S4 requires an MHL adapter to provide an HDMI connection externally. The Samsung MHL adapter is the best choice and it offers a full size (not micro) HDMI port.

How can I connect my galaxy s3 cell phone to my tv?

How to connect Samsung Galaxy S3 to TV..
There are 3 ways to do this..

1. You can use a compatible MHL adapter that connects to the micro USB charging port of your phone and then a regular HDMI cable from your TV connects to the MHL adapter that's connected to your phone. You will have to connect the Samsung micro USB charging cable to the MHL adapter in order for this to work.

You will be able to see everything that you do on your device, however you will be limited to how you hold your phone if you are trying to play a game and direct what you see on the screen to the TV.

Note: the MHL adapter may overheat your device if you have it on and working for long periods of time.

Youtube example of MHL to TV:
How to Mirror or connect Samsung Galaxy s3 to TV

2. You can use a remote access app on the phone to view on a PC/TV monitor. Depending on the remote access app, there maybe a lag seeing the image on your screen. Most apps like this are paid apps.

3. The Samsung Galaxy S3 phone has a natively installed software tool on the phone or can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy App Store (Available after you set up your Samsung account on your phone) that can link to a compatible DLNA device (most TV's that are 2005 or older). The app is called Samsung AllShare Play, or it may also be called Samsung Link
