ZEN M wont connect to computer

I have a Zen Vision M and I am having some problems with it.For some reason when I connect to my computer it does not want to connect. The USB cable is good because as soon as I plug it in it starts charging. I tried going through the device manager to connect it but it is not even displayed there. So I updated my usb drivers and still no luck. I took the Zen into recovery mode and did a clean up and tried reloading the firmware but can't because it wont connect to the computer. Now every time I turn on the player it states it has a firmware problem. Then I thought it was my computer and connected to my desktop and still no luck. Installed creative software multiple times still no luck. I NEED HELP!!!!

Same problem. It is not even listed in the Device Manager, so I cannot make any software/firmware alteration. Please help!

I've had my Zen for a little over a year with no issues, but in Oct 2007 when I went to upload some new CD's XP would not recognize the player. I receive a "USB Device Not Recognized" error message and have no portable devices listed under Device Manager. I have tried about everything listed short of re-installing XP. I believe the error is being caused by a recent XP update since my computer configuration has not changed other than installing Window's updates.

The problem is that the connection in the bottom of the zen has shorted out maybe it was pluged into a i pod docking station or some force was used to connect it as thats what i done and it stopped working after that. i had the same problem where their was no connection between computer and my zen i contacted the customer support via e mail they sent me a troubleshoot guide so without going thru the guide i just kept on telling them that it didn't work so in the end they just asked for me to send it back to them,so i did and got the same one back with a new connector on it i know it is all they done because now its a little loose i live in Ireland and bought it in USA and there was no problems sending it to zen europe.the problem ends with the connector not with your computer as i done everything you had done to your computer thinking that was the problem i hope this helps.

Firmware problem for zen vision M

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

It won't transfer my zen vision M songs from my computer

I've been able to solve the problem I had with transferring files to my Zen Vision M.

I uninstalled all components of Media Source 5 and Zen Vision M Series Explorer on my PC. I then reinstalled them again. I also rolled back to Windows Media 10 (as I recently upgraded to v 11) and unchecked Sync with Zen Vision M in tools/options/devices on WM player. I then run the Clean up in recovery mode on the Zen. When the PC restarts after the installation of the software it will ask for you to connect the player. The PC should now successfully transfer files to the player.

Hope it works for you too.
