My LG tv is stuck in Standby. If I turn it off at the wall for a few hrs then turn on it starts ok, but if it goes into Standby it stays there. The light goes from red to white, suggesting it's getting the right signal & wants to come on, but nothing happens, no fan or relay noises or anything. Any suggestions?

I have had this same problem twice in the past 3 months. So far both times I've been able to get it back after a week or two. I'm not sure what works, but unplugging and detaching the antenna and cable and waiting a few days seems to be the key. In both instances, I unplugged it for a few days then plugged it in for a few days and repeated the processes until I eventually got the steady red led. Both times prior to the red led the led would flash red then green and make a clickiing noise for several hours before I was able to get it working again.

good grief - my TV just did the same thing - its locked in standby mode - I disconnected power several times - each time i reconnect the green light comes on for about a minute 9nothing happens on the screen) and then returns to the stanby mode

Power supply problem.... I can explain to you how to fix via email with detailed instruction and pics... Hope you haven't bought another as this is a 5-30 dollar fix. I have 2 50" that did this I fixed mine for 80 cents.
