LG DLG2532W Gas dryer problem

Hi,

My LG Gas dryer does not heat. I have checked the venting. It is okay (even to outside I see good airflow). I cleaned the humidity sensor (per customer service recommendation). Still does not heat. I also checked circuit breaker outside the house and it is okay.

Help!

I'm having the same problem. DLG2532W Dryer won't heat. I've replaced the Thermostat assemblies, but it still won't heat.

It did fire up once I put a new Frame Detect in, but it failed to heat shortly after that.

The vent has been cleaned and the venting is clear.

The Ignitor reads 300+ ohms, and the gas valves both read 1.8k ohms.

    Help!

DLG2532W Not heating; Gas Dryer. I did try to bypass the thermostats. Each of the one at a time; They have been replaced, but they still test out ok. Still does not work. Even with all of them bypassed.

I tried with a jump wire, and directly taping them together.

The ignitor still doesn't glow. It does test out over 300 ohms.

Thoughts? About the only thing I haven't replaced is the control panel and the ignitor.

I have the same problem on my DLG2532W, I would dry one set of clothes and then on my second load after it went through the time, the clothes are cold. After the first time I noticed it, had a repair man come out, luckily I purchased the extended warranty with Best Buy, but the repair man took about a week to come and see it since he was from out of town since no one here could repair LG's. He said it was just a circuit breaker that trips when it gets too hot, since that is how the machine is, which is good, but not good when it trips every time you do a load of laundry!!!! The repair man should be what to do, which was the greatest think ever!!! But because it is a pain to take out the screw everytime it trips, I now have my dryer constantly apart so it is easier to push in the circuit. On my machine, you need to unplug the machine, or else you will get a little shock if you don't touch the right spot. You have to pop open the top of the machine, unscrew the top 2 screws of the machine and unscrew the screws around the circle so the front part of the machine comes off so you see the parts. The circuit is located on the bottom right of my machine between 2 wires, if you press it, you hear a click and then try the machine to see if it works now.

Hope that helps, frustrated LG owner like everyone else!!!!

I tried the circuit bbutton reset trick and it worked!! Yippee! It's a pain to take the thing apart, but with 4 kids, I can't afford to not have it working. I had a difficult time finding the button on my dryer. It's a white button, not on the right side, but about 6" towards the center from the right side and about 7" towards the back near two wires connecting to what looks like a metal cylinder on the left side of the cylinder. Thanks so much for posting this! I will never buy this brand again - have both washer and dryer - they have worked hard for 5 years, but I am always unplugging them and cleaning out the washer filter. My dryer drum is cracked and makes a thump thump sound - like a loud heartbeat, and now this! Sometimes I wish they would just toast so I could get rid of them! Dawn in MN

LG DRYER NOT HEATING ????? ****PLEASE READ THIS LG DRYER UPDATE!!!!! ****
I READ AND FOLLOWED THE SUGGESTIONS ABOVE AND IT WORKED!!!!! AND I SAVED HUNDREDS! LET ME WALK YOU THRU.
(UNPLUG THE ELECTRICAL CORD BEFORE FOLLOWING THESE STEPS)
1.ON TOP OF DRYER THERE ARE SCREWS ON BACK, UNSCREWING THESE WILL ALLOW YOU TO PULL TOP OFF (IT SLIDES AWAY FROM DRYER)
    2. NOW THAT TOP IS OFF, UNSCREW SCREWS OFF OF TOP FRONT PANEL (SCREWS ARE ON BACK OF FRONT PANEL BUT CAN ONLY BE SCREWED OFF IF TOP IS OFF)
    3. NOW OPEN DRYER FRONT DOOR AND UNSCREW 2 SCREWS UNDER LINT CATCHER AREA, SCREWS FACE THE FRONT - NOW THE WHOLE BOTTOM FRONT PANEL WITH DOOR WILL CAN COME OFF TO ACCESS THE BOTTOM OF DRYER
    4. ON LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF DRYER THERE'S AN AREA WITH WIRES AND PARTS - LOOK TOWARDS BACK ALONG RIGHT SIDE OF BOTTOM OF DRYER (ABOUT 6 - 7 INCHES TOWARDS BACK)
    (FLASHLIGHT MAKES EASY TO SEE)
5.LOCATE THE FLAME TUBE WHICH LOOKS LIKE AN OPEN CYLINDER (THIS IS A FEW INCHES FROM RIGHT SIDE TOWARDS CENTER OF DRYER) - ON THE LEFT BOTTOM SIDE OF THIS FLAME TUBE THERE ARE 2 SETS OF WIRES (1 IN THE INSIDE OF THIS FLAME TUBE AND 1 ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE FLAME TUBE) THE 1 SET OF TWO WIRES THATS INSIDE OF FLAME TUBE IS WHERE YOU WILL BE LOCATING A "BUTTON OR PIN SWITCH" - THIS WILL BE RIGHT BETWEEN BOTH WIRES (MINE WAS BLACK COLOR BUTTON ON A METAL PIN).
"PUSH / CLICK" THIS BUTTON BUT MAKE SURE THERE IS NO NOISE AROUND YOU BECAUSE YOU NEED TO HEAR TO MAKE SURE YOU HEAR A "CLICK" SOUND - I MISSED IT BUT ONCE CLICKED IT WONT CLICK AGAIN BUT ITS OK CUZ IT WILL WORK).
    6. BEFORE PUTTING EVERTHING BACK TOGETHER I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU VACUUM OUT ALL LINT/ DUST BUNNIES FROM THE INSIDE OF THE AREA YOU WERE JUST IN (AROUND THE FLAME TUBE). i EVEN UNSCREWED THE OUTSIDE OF LINT CATCHER TOOK IT OFF (EASY) AND CLEANED IT. I ALSO VACUUMED THE BACK OF DRYER WHERE EXHAUST COMES OUT AND VACUUMED THE VENT THAT GOES TO WALL AND THE VENT GOING UP TO MY ATTIC AND MADE SURE THE AIR FLOW WAS GOOD THROUGHT THAT WHOLE AREA (SHOP VAC WORKED GOOD CUZ YOU CAN USE IT TO VACUUM BOTH BY SUCKING AND BLOWING AIR INTO THE AREAS WHERE VENTING / EXHAUST OCCUR).
    7. PUT ALL PARTS AND SCREWS BACK, PLUG IN AND TURN DRYER ON WITH WET CLOTHES IN IT ...

Thanks this worked really well. For the top removal only take out the three screws along the back. you dont have to take off the control panel. Then along the front edge there are two tabs hold down the top just push a flat head screw driver in and it will pop up.

THANK YOU for this solution--worked perfectly. I agree with Joe that the easier way to open the top is to stick a screw driver in the front corners and pry it up. The spring loaded latches will snap open. When all the way inside I couldn't actually see the button, but felt for it between the two wires (which were actually on the outside of the tube) and felt the button. Highly recommend cleaning out the lint trap assembly while you've got the whole front open--very easy and I found tons of lint there. Thanks again, Ariemiko. Great solution.

followed the advice from Ariemiko2.... and it worked!!! It took a while for me to find this solution. I had tested every thing else and every thing checked out. This saved me from buying a new machine. Thanks

Actually, it was the Control Panel that went bad. It's not too expensive, and has been working find. The toughest part of replacing it was getting the buttons to line up. Have a 2nd pair of hands to help you.

Hope this helps!

First check and clean the lint trap. Next turn on the dryer and go outside to the dryer vent and make sure you have good airflow coming out. If you don't have good airflow then there is a blockage in the vent system somewhere.

Gas dry is not heating enough to dry clothes

There is two possible causes. Either your gas coils are going bad late in the cycle or your venting is restricted. I would go outside check to make sure you have good airflow. If you have good airflow outside the only common cause of gas dryers failing to heat late in the cycle would be gas coils. If you have a peep hole on your dryer look in it after your dryer has been running for approx 30 mins and see if the ignitor glows and then shuts off. If the burner does not kick on then you have bad gas coils. They are part number 5303931775.

OK i see the other modle #.
Yes the ignitor can be replaced part# 5318EL3001A

If you have to reset the thermal fuse your vent is clogged so be sure to clean the vent all the way to the outside.

80 modle gas

The dryer may be free of lint, but what about the vent that comes out of the dryer into the wall, than also the vent going through the wall to the outside. This is where the problem usually is. Try and check the vent outside the house. Feel how much air is blowing out. It should be pretty strong, not just a light breeze. Even a small restriction in airflow will cause the heat to shhut off prematurely. Its a very good idea to include professional dryer vent cleaning as part of the yearly maintanance. This is one of ythe leading causes of dryer fires. Hope this helps, dave www.washermd.com

LG DRYER DLG2532W GAS

Dryer doesn't get hot. Replaced all the sensors and still it doesn't get hot. Doesn't get hot in any mode. All vents are clear. I'm thinking that maybe there may not gas getting ignited, but I know nothing about gas stuff and am not sure if thats the problem. Any ideas of what I should be looking at next?

Dryer heating problems

You have this under "gas dryer" but by the model number it's an electrics dryer. There are 3 things you can check yourself first, 1) Check for blown fuses or popped circuit breakers. 2) Check the connections where the wires go in the back of the dryer 3) Make sure you have good airflow coming out of the vent outside your house. If all of these are good then you will have to call for service.

I have a lg dryer model dlg2532w gas dryer it does get warm

if the cloths are warm and wet the problem is not with the dryer but in the venting. check the air flow at the end of the line (where the exhaust leaves the building) if the air baffels are not fully opening when the drier is on there is probably an issue with the venting. remember to tape up the venting joints after inspecting it because it is also the exhaust for the gas. hope this helps.
