Garmin Nuvi 50LM will change states

Check to make sure your maps are checked off. Go to settings, Map, then press Map Info at the bottom of the screen. Make sure City Navigator North America NT v8 has a check mark on it.

Got it!! For those getting the "No Matches Found" headache. Here's the solution:1. Go to "Settings" 2. Go to "Map" 3. Go to "Map Info" 4. MAKE SURE that "City Navigator North America NT 2008" is CHECKED. It fixed the problem for me. Hopefully it will fix yours all the same. God Bless.

SOURCE: Garmin Nuvi --Can't put state in for address

Turn on the unit and go to Settings
Then select Map
Then select Map Info
Verify that there is a check mark next to City Navigator North America NT

SOURCE: No matches found on garmin 350

Click on the wrench symbol, then the map icon and then "map info". Make sure your map is checked. If it's not, then your map is off. When its off you wont find anything.

SOURCE: Default state changing

If you are talking about your home location all you have to do is go to your TOOLS / MY DATA / SET HOME LOCATION. You can then set your HOME location to anywhere you want. This is the only default location I am aware of. If this isn't what you were looking for let me know and I can dig into it.

How do i get my nevi 50lm to change states

When you press "Address"...Your next screen should be the state you are in. If you want to change the state or country go to the bottom of that screen and press "State or Country". Next screen you can select "Spell State or Province". If you want to change Country press the bottom of the screen and proceed to the next screen and enter the country name....example Canada....

Live in Toronto Ontario Canada...garmin jumps always to New Brunswick and cannot find a match for Ontario..always opens in New York

Go to Where To...... Address...... on top of screen you have where its searching saying ( Select City in )

to change that look on bottom of screen there is .... Change State / Province

Reset did not work. Still cannot enter state. When I hit spell state the gps responds no matches found. When I hit back - the alphabet appears but as soon as i hit a letter the GPS responds no matches...

The problem may be because the text language is British English. To be able to enter a state it must be in American English. To change to American English follow the instructions below;
