First it would help if you told us what type of machine you had.
second, go to the website of your manufacturer, go to the support/download section, select your operating system and model, and download it.
then run it.

thanks adi

My computer cannot detect my scanner. Error Code: 0x0070800

The FB320P is a parallel port scanner and is having problems communicating with the computer. Are you connecting it directly to the parallel port on the computer? In that case, you may not have bi-directional communication enabled. Turn off the scanner and the computer and disconnect the data cable from the computer. Turn on the computer and enter the BIOS. (Press Esc, F1, F10, or Del repeatedly after you turn the computer. You should see a screen with the correct key to press; it varies depending on your BIOS and motherboard. If you miss the timing, shut down the computer and try again.) In the BIOS, search for the parallel port settings and see if you can enable bi-directional communication.

Not all parallel ports support bi-directional communication. If you can't enable the feature, you need a different parallel port. Try a PCI slot add-on card; just check the features and check the manual for enabling bi-directional communication.

If you are using a USB to parallel port adapter, get a different one that supports the bi-directional communication.

What OS are you using? There are a few that had ASPI driver issues; a third party app, ForceASPI, may help. See for information.

I hope this helps. Please add more information about the configuration (cable, OS, etc) for extra ideas to solve the problem.

I have installed HP PHoto and Imaging Softward for ScanJet 3570c 48 bit. Everytime I try to click on icons on the scanner, my computer shows an error message that there is a problem with connecting to the...

Does the same error occur if you launch a scan from the computer? What OS do you have? Vista only has a basic driver available and does not support the scanner buttons. (You can launch the scans from a number of options: third-party software, Windows Fax and Scan (new scan), Microsoft Paint (File > Import from Scanner or Camera > New Scan) and Windows Photo Gallery.)

If the error occurs when you launch the scan from the computer, try a new data cable and different USB ports. Try a direct USB connection if you use a hub. Then check your USB ports and the drivers for the USB. (For Windows, look in the Device Manager. Start > Control Panel > System > Device Manager (exact directions will depend on the OS).

The HP Photo and Imaging software requires you to set the default scan destinations in the software before you can use the buttons on the scanner (for those OS/driver versions that support the feature). Always open the software and scan from the computer to see what the defaults will be. Each version of HP's imaging software set up these buttons differently; the help option is useful. Try Scan > Scan settings to find where to set the color and black & white destinations.

I hope this helps. If you add a comment with your OS and whether the computer can launch a scan, I'll provide additional help if I can.

Unable to install software on HP4370 Scanner. Although the previous software has been uninstalled a message appears stating that the software is already installed.

uninstall it completely ....even the driver ...cause if it is a auto-run install it sees that the driver and the printer it is still on ...or ..browse the cd ..and only click on the scanner software
first go to the control panel and remove the software from the add remove programs ...than ..restart the computer ..and than try only software for the scanner If it does the same...remove all drivers and software related with the printer /scanner..and run the complete cd again ...

Trying to erase a light with a scanner

There is no real place where scanners come up except when they are plugged in. Once plugged in they should come up in device manager which you can access by right clicking My Computer select Manage Computer and you will see the Device Manager. Once selected you will see all the hardware devices connected to your computer. Under Scanners should be the scanner wich you can then right click and choose uninstall.
To connect a scanner simply plug it in and use the CD it came with to install the driver and software which should pick up the device and add it. The scanner software itself is what picks up the scanners and alows you to use there functionality.
What is it your trying to do re-install, add, remove a scanner. Is it the software thats playing up or the scanner itself?
