I have a whirlpool washer (Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus) that will agitate and drain but won't spin in the spin cycle. I was able to get it spinning by opening the lid and helping it along by spinni
Spinning by hand, then it was empty, and it worked, then stop by it self.
If it goes when you try to spin it then it sounds logical that the belt may be slipping or the transmission is having problems with the clutchesIf it goes when you try to spin it then it sounds logical that the belt may be slipping or the transmission is having problems with the clutches

My whirlpool heavy duty 2 speed 7 cycle washer machine stopped working, It fills up and aggitates for the first cycle then when it should drain and spin it doesnt drain nor spin
Hi Sherrie,
There is a service manual located inside the front left side of the cabinet.I find it easier to turn the washer on it's back and then reach up in the cabinet to get it.Hope this Helps !
You found a belt? Most w/p washer do not have a belt they are direct drive. take off the pump and motor to replace the motor coupling, 2 plastic pieces w/ a rubber in between
It sounds like the agitator gripping teeth are worn out. To check this, take the agitator cap off with a strong knife or flat-head screw driver, pull the cap off and check the plastice teeth and four plastic hooks that grab the teeth. If they are worn out, then you will have to replace the agitator. To replace it, you will see a nut that is between the circlular teeth. Unscrew the nut and pull the agitator up hard.
Coupling is broken that connects motor to transmission. Replace it. Please contact me if you need further help or leave feedback if appropriate as that is how I get paid. Thanks for letting me help you!
if its a 2 piece agitator.. the gears in top of agitator is stripped out.. change gears be like new....spin top countor clockwise if it dont grap.. gears bad
