How do I remove "waste toner" from my drum cartridge
It says to replace the drum cartridge due to it being full of waste toner? The toner is relatively new and it does get cleaned (or how it says for it to be cleaned) on a semi regular basis. We have already taken it out and shook it a little and put it back in, and we have tried turning it off and then turning it back on. It often claims that there is an ink issue & if it gets turned off it will reset itself (this time the error wont go away). It also jams paper VERY often and needs to have it all taken out in order to continue printing. That is about it... hopefully you can help!

Most units you cannot. You must purchase a replacement drum. What a racket right? Usually you need to buy a Cell phone to find hooks like this.
They usually have a chip counter like the toner cartridges.
1. The toner waste compartment is full. You need to clean the toner waste compartment located in the cartridge itself.
2. Roller drum inside the cartridge have lines normally starts on both ends of the drum. This due to bulky printing. Check and replace this parts inside the toner cartridge. Manual cleaning is not advisable because the result will still the same. If you have only toner cartridge, use the roller drum and replace in place of it.
3. Faulty Toner Cartridge that cause leaking the toner powder. If you purchase remanufactured toner cartridge or you refill the toner cartridge. It tends to worn out the parts. Normally starts as roller drum and follows with the other parts. Replace new original Toner Cartridge. When you refill the toner cartridge, you need to clean the waste compartment as well as it will later be full and overflow.

Black stripe is the main problem of damage roller drum inside the toner cartridge or damage fuser film drum inside the printer. Check first the roller drum of toner cartridge if both sides of the roller is tear off. That would be the problem. If not the fuser film inside printer is damage. This is dammage due to continues bulky printing.
But if your refilling the toner cartridge, you need to clean the waste bin compartment of the toner cartridge maybe it is full and waste are overflowing on it making black stripes on your printer and will damage both printer and cartridge.
This is a drum related problem. The waste toner is full. Remove the drum unit, remove toner cartridge and unscrew 2 chrome screws on on the left side of the unit. empty the waste and screw back the screws. replace toner and put back in the machine

There really isn't enough information given to give a proper solution. This copier has the drum light come on steady or flashing to indicate the waste toner needs to be removed. I don't know if you're a technician or not but lay people have emptied the toner cartridge instead of removing the drum, removing the cap on top of the drum, emptying the waste toner , replacing the cap on the drum, then putting the drum back into the copier. I've never had a copier keep the drum light on after doing this.
The waste toner is collected inside the drum cartridge. It can be emptied by removing the drum cartridge assy and opening the opaque window and emptying into a large bag. The lines on your copies are probably a symptom of the drum being worn out, so replacement is probably a better option. The drum is good for 60,000 copies.
