If I remove the audio input jack by cutting the wires and taping them will my radio/cd player still work? I don't use the jack and don't plan to. The radio sporadically cuts out and "Aux Input Device"

Tried to clean the jack by inserting the appropriate plug.

Should be ok to cut and splice wires. Leave enough on plug to hook back up if you need to.

SOURCE: aux input location

Though I'm sure there is an AUX button on the radio, there isn't actually an auxillary port on a 2007 Grand Prix stock radio.I'm sorry to say, but you would have to get an aftermarket radio.

I am sorry, but the factory default radio in all 2005 cobalt models does not have auxiliary audio input jacks anywhere. I wish they did.

SOURCE: aux input jack broken on radio 2007 dodge caliber

Your Radio is 1.5 din size, Pioneer makes a deck that is this size. The other alternative is to pull the unit out and send it out for repair, they can fix this for around $200 or less. Call the link below for more info and help.

SOURCE: aux input for MP3 player

I'am an M.B. tech- I do not beleive that this radio is mp3 compatable- iknow that the input you are refering to is used for ipod use. It very well could be that the head unit has to be programed(basically informed0 for an mp3- i would call the service dept. and ask to talk to ther best audio tech savay mechanic. Most likley the service writer wouldn.t know or give you false information because they do not stay on top of all the little tecnical changes. This fiber optic system has many programing features- most have to be done with as sds laptop(dealer software only) good luck

SOURCE: how to you enable aux input on a 2006 trailblazer

That interface most likely is not going to work, because it is not compatible with all the gm radios, don't work good with XM and rear video system,
the problem is the wiring and the software on the interface,

the PIE GM12-AUX v2 works with all the radios in gm vehicles,
radio needs to have a BAND button and CD/AUX

Got new stock stereo for my Honda crv because the CD player jammed up on the old one. Put in new stereo, cd and tape player work fine but radio is just all static. Antenna is plugged in. Ideas?

You might cure this with inline suppressor which you connect somewhere between aerial and input jack.if it makes static noises when engine is not running then it is an aerial issue.either the input is not pushed all the way in or the braid is touching metalwork or the cable is faulty.

How do I connect Sirus XM for a 2006 escape using the audio cable? Does my radio have an input jack?

You will need to remove the radio and look at the rear for the input, if your radio doesnt have an input you can buy the kit to connect it to sirrus and instead of direct connect you can use a radio station to connect to sirrus, most newwer cars and trucks will come with an input but lower brand radios may not. the only way would be to remove the radio and check , dont reinstall radio if you plan on getting the adapt kit.

I own a 1997 Ford Taurus. I am trying to use a tape to mp3 player adapter in its tape player. When I push the tape in the player, I get a "TDE3" message and the tape spits out. I tried using another tape,...

It's the tape deck there must be a tape that got caught inside and is wrapped around the capstan or the heads and the radio stays on because the switch is not activated by the deck lowering down far enough you have to take it out and clean it and look for any tape or other obstructions that would stop the mechanism from working including the belt you may need parts and a 20 year old radio there hard to find try the junk yard for a replacement but you can operate yours with the cover off if you can get it out far enough to see inside while it's on and that will help you find the problem but first bring it inside your house so you don't loose parts after cleaning with alcohol and derusting if any and a light lubricant you might be lucky see what happens I also use an adapter for my cell phone music in a 2007 bull and I also did it in an 87 bull with a cd player so I know what your talking about also make sure the adapter wire is not hanging up when pushing it in good luck also brand new replacements might be the best way to get the music you want they have auxiliary input jacks for cell phone mp3 players but try to fix yours first the learning part is priceless for the future radios you will own

Radio.

First you need to UN DO your first hook up. Put it back the way it was before you splice. You have evendently spliced the wrong wires. Without schematics colors and stripe won't mean anything.

Be thankful you haven't damaged anything or burn something out in your control module.

You need to find the schematic wiring for the radio.

Or if you have a taple player in the radio, by the tape adapter for CD player. Until you can find out what wires PRE AMP the tape player then you can splice.

i supose the am fm radio just dosnt cut it anymore well lets give this a try . first u must disconnect positive battery cable so you dont short any wires . remove screws that hold in factory radio pull radio out a feww inches as no to rip out any wires.next you must locate positive 12 volt power supply wire usually red or orange .if not shure connect battry cable again and use a 12 volt test light by attaching the ground cable on the test light to a good clean metal bracket under dashboard or connect to a black groundwire with a screw into the steel under dash next probe the wires goin into the factory radio ur looking to find power 12 volts once you have found the correct power wire use tape and mark it this will be the power wire for your new stereo next u must figure out what wires for what speakers osually 2 wires per speaker 2 rear speakers and 2 front speakers meaning a total of 8 wires follw me so far ? now disconect car battry again so not to have sparks and cut or disconnect remaining wires speakers first label all with tape and mark front right front left rear left rear right there is a + and - the wire with the stripe on it is usually the + the other wire is the - being negitive ground . this operation is important in order for your fade ballance controlls to work properly now with your new cd player inhand look and see what wire is gonna be 12 volt most times its red with a fuse eg white plastic connector small fuse inside there it a must proper fuse to protect new cd player now there will be a black negative this will go to the matal ground area under dash close to where cd player goes into dash red to the orig taped 12 volt supply now ur spks one pos+ and one neg or common to each speaker now make all conections with stereo before you push stereo into dash you must hook up car battry leaving cd player hanging out so you can make wire changes if you wish on the speakers you need to use one pos front right or rear right + with one common or neg black - to the spkr the same common or ground or - whatever its called one common or neg can be used for all spkrs .good luck tape and solder all connections after you feel all is good im sorry this is all the help i can offer you be careful
