How do i change door switch

Replacing the lid switch is not complicated, but you must take care in removing the console.

First slide a putty knife between the console and the top on both the left and right side. What you are trying to do is push a metal clip back so that the console can be lifted from the front and tilted up. This is the part to be careful so that you don't bread the plastic clips in the back.

After you have the console up, disconnect the lid switch harness to the top and there are two metal clips holding the top to the back panel. With a flat-head screw driver remove the clips.

The entire cabinet is ready to be lifted off the chassis. Just lift and pull forward to remove cabinet. You then can replace the lid switch. Just re-assemble in the reverse order.

good luck

How do I get the back panel off of my Frigidaire model FER211AS2?

You dont take off the back. you access the dryer from the front. There are two clips in the front of the dryer that hold the lid down. Take a putty knife and slide it under the lid in the front just above the door panel. The lid will lift up. Look down the side of dryer under the lid. you will see two screws one on each side of the dryer about a quarter the way down. remove them. then pull the door panel forward and lift up. unplug the door switch now you will have access to the whole dryer

Use Zoomspout oil to kill them squeaky noises. Remove the rollers and shine up the shafts with sand cloth. then oil em and put it back together. You need to sit the dryer on a table to get the belt back on. Doing it on the floor is tough.

I cannot find the lid clips on my Maytag dryer MDG6000AWW to remove the top. Any suggestions?

The lid clips - if I understand you correctly - do not need to be accessed - you merely pry the front of the lid up by slipping a screw driver between the lid and the front panel - near the corners. The top will lift out of the clips and lift up - hinged at the rear of the dryer. I don't know the MGD6000AWW in particular, but there are many dryer belt repair videos to look at - all of which require that the top lid be removed. Have a look at these videos to get an idea of what I'm describing.

Good luck!

The little oval hole where the washer lid with a pin sticks into to make the machine run is not functioning. We can bang the lid or put a screwdriver down in the oval hole to maintain contact, but it's...

yes, it's worth fixing, take out the two screws holding the top control panel,i think on your washer they are in the back of each side of panel,if not pop off the corner covers on the left and right side of panel and remove screws, top panel is on hindges, lift it up and there will be two metal clips, use a straight blade screw driver and stick it in the part of metal clip that's cliped into the top of washer and push back on screw driver and that will release the clip, put them down on a table the same way you took them out so you'll remember how to put them back in.unclip the lid switch wires, they are plugged in to the top of washer, now tilt the frame up and pull to you and you now can get at the lid switch.put it back together and you should be all set

How do I remove gravel underneath washer tub?

To access the washer:
  1. Use a putty knife about an inch wide.
  2. Push the putty knife on the sides to release the top panel and lid clips.
  3. Lift the top panel back towards the wall.
  4. Tape the lid so it does not fall back and chip.
  5. Remove the two 5/16 inch screws on the inside of the front panel. The top of the front panel will come towards you.
  6. Lift the front panel off the clips on the bottom and set aside.
  7. Pull the washer out from the wall and lift up the front to access the belt. Support it with a block of wood.

Replace the lid switch on washer

There are 2 screws at each corner on the front of the control panel. Remove these. Then gently pull out and up on the control panel and lift it up to expose the 2 clips on each side of the cabinet. these should pop out easily with a flat head screw driver. There should be one wire assembly plastic clip that you also need to release. At this point, the entire cabinet will lift towards you by grabbing the back and pulling towards you. At this point, the lid switch can easily be changed with 2 screws. It's not as hard as it sounds.

Lid Switch

First of all, unplug your washer before attempting to remove the console. I believe your washer has release tabs under the console at each front corner. Simply slide a putty knife straight in from the front at each corner and push in while lifting up. You should feel the release tabs push in and the console will pop up. Once you have the console removed, carefully lift it up and lay it back over the rear panel of the washer in its resting position. Be careful not to damage the small plastic hinges that hold it in place. Now you will need to perform the following steps: 1. Under the console you will find the lid switch connector. Unplug the switch from the connector. 2. There will be two brass colored clips. You will need to remove these to remove the machine casing. Place a flat blade screwdriver straight down into the opening on top of the washer and into the groove of the clip. Push the screwdriver away from you while holding into the groove and the clip will release. 3. Open the lid of the washer and place your hand under the front rim of the opening (DO NOT grab the wash tub). Now pull the case from the frame by lifting from the back first. You do not have to remove it all the way from the frame. Just enough to gain access to the switch. All there is to the switch is a couple of screws holding it in and a ground wire. It's a pretty easy repair job. Once you've completed your switch installation, make sure you get the case back on the frame correctly by following these steps: 1. While looking down through the lid opening, place the front lip of the machine case UNDER the washer frame and start leaning it back onto the frame. There are four small cleats that must fit into four slots on the case or the washer will vibrate. Make sure the frame is seated properly, lean forward from the front of the washer, grasp both sides of the rear panel and pull towards the case. The rear panel should be seated and flush with the casing before inserting the retaining clips. 2. Insert the brass-colored clips into the slot on the washer rear panel first, then push straight down into the opening on the top of the washer with some force. If you have the case seated correctly, the clips will snap back in. 3. Make sure you plug the connector from the console back into the lid switch receptacle and close the console. I hope you find this helpful. If you have any questions please let me know by posting comments.
