Question about Toshiba 37HL67 37 in. LCD HDTV

Toshiba 37HL67 has a series of 3 blinking lights on power up. When TV turns on the screen will show up normally, but goes out shortly there after. Power down, smack the top, power on, comes on like it

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Location of the engine control module 0n a 2001 Blazer 4.3 v 6

Hi, the PCM is under the air filter assembly.
  1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil and the remaining automatic transmission fluid life. Record the remaining engine oil and the remaining automatic transmission fluid life.
  2. Turn OFF the ignition.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Remove the screw retaining the intake air duct/resonator (3) to the PCM housing.
  5. Unsnap the air filter housing clamps on top of the air cleaner housing assembly.
  6. Pull the intake air duct/resonator assembly (2) up enough to remove the air cleaner cover (3) and the PCM.
  7. Slide the air cleaner element assembly toward the fender to separate the air cleaner element assembly from the air inlet assembly.
  8. Loosen the PCM connector attaching bolts.
  9. Disconnect both PCM connectors.
  10. Remove the PCM (1).
    If the PCM is being programmed using the Off-Board method, perform the programming before continuing with the steps listed below. Refer to the Off-Board procedure in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Programming.

1994 Ford Ranger 3.0L will not start. Code reader reports Keep Alive Memory failure. Code 512 and code 332 are shown and reader reports electronic fault.

Check your connections on the PCM, look for corrosion, try cleaning the connector. If that doesn't work, Open the PCM up and if you capacitors are swollen or you have green corrosion on the board, maybe brown discoloration, it means your PCM is bad. You can either try replacing the caps yourself , send it out to be rebuilt or find a remanned PCM, but the remanned has to be the same as what you have or it won't work. for more info you should got to all kinds of help there.

TV won't turn on. flashes a series of 5 red lights instead of turning green

Usually Sony and LG Blinking Codes are the same. Here is what I have.
  • Unit is dead, No blinks - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse,
  • Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective.
  • One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis
  • Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.
  • Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit,
  • Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted.
  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
  • Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately.
  • Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
  • Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code.
  • Nine blinks - Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive).
  • Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board.

These two error codes may be related. The p1601 is saying that the internal temperature of the power control module PCM is too high or that the outside temperature is out side of normal range. The second code u1255 is set when control modules fail to send the right signals to one another. If the PCM is malfunctioning due to high temperature or error then this may cause the lack of data transfer and hence the u1255 signal. Disconnect the negative terminal to the battery. Check out the PCM, ensure that all electrical connections to it are clean and secure; a poor connection can generate quite a lot of heat hence the p1601. Ensure that there is no sign of wires shorting underneath the PCM. If all connections look clean and free of corrosion open up the PCM and look for obvious hot spots on the main board. A dry joint or annular crack in the solder around a power pin on the board can create heat. If you see this just re-solder. If the board is cooked beyond repair then a new PCM is needed. Ensure that the PCM is shielded from direct sources of heat such as the exhaust manifold etc. When the battery is reconnected the error codes most likely will have been cleared but if the problem persists the error codes will be logged again.

Service of the powertrain control module (PCM) should normally consist of either replacement of the PCM or electrically erasable programmable read only memory (EEPROM) programming. If the diagnostic procedures call for the PCM to be replaced, the PCM should be inspected first to see if the correct part is being used. If the correct part is being used, remove the faulty PCM and install the new service PCM.
Important: To prevent internal PCM damage, the ignition must be OFF when disconnecting or reconnecting power to the PCM. For example, when working with a battery cable, PCM pigtail, PCM fuse, or jumper cables.
Important: Remove any debris from the PCM connector surfaces before servicing the PCM. Inspect the PCM module connector gaskets when diagnosing or replacing the PCM. Ensure that the gaskets are installed correctly. The gaskets prevent contaminant intrusion into the PCM.
Removal Procedure
    Important: It is necessary to record the remaining engine oil life. If the replacement module is not programed with the remaining engine oil life, the engine oil life will default to 100%. If the replacement module is not programmed with the remaining engine oil life, the engine oil will need to be changed at 5000 km (3,000 mi) from the last engine oil change.
  1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.

Loosen the PCM harness connector bolts (4) from the center of the PCM harness connectors.
Notice: In order to prevent internal damage to the PCM, the ignition must be OFF when disconnecting or reconnecting the PCM connector.
Remove the PCM harness connectors (2) from the PCM (1).
Remove the PCM retaining bolts (3) and nuts (6).
Notice: Do not touch the connector pins or soldered components on the circuit board in order to prevent possible electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to the PCM.
Slide the PCM (1) away from the intake manifold past the mounting studs (5) and remove PCM from the vehicle.
Remove the PCM mounting studs (5) from the intake manifold ONLY if replacing the studs.

It is possible that the pcm made need to reflashed after replacement.

Replacing the ecm car tuns over but will not start

Hello: Have you had the replacement PCM (scm) programmed, if not you will have to take it to a GM dealer along with your vin number. The dealer will have to have an off board programming equipment. Also is the knock sensor module installed on the PCM?

Have replace pcm board and altenator but will only show discharge. will not produce more than 11.8 volts. chargeing system does not seem to work.

2001 Jeep wrangler, error code 203 (or 206?) PCM board to injector #3. I just replaced PCM board 30 days ago and that time it said injector #4. I also replaced injector #4. Can I be that unlucky that 2 boards went bad in 1 mo or is something causing the PCM to go bad. We have checked everything including wiring harness. Please help. It began losing power and engine light came on, that is what happened both times.

2001 Jimmy. Changed out the ECM, now it won't start. Anyone know the procedure to follow for afterwards of replacement?

The computer on that vehicle is a Power Train Control Module. Or PCM.
The PCM requires a reprogramming procedure that is specific to your vehicle, as the vehicle identification number is also electronicly stored. Some GM dealers have an "off board programmer" that allows them to reprogram the PCM at the parts counter, however most shops will require the vehicle to be brought in also.
