Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

My fireplace model #F2808D keeps squeeking when I turn it on. It sounds like an old bicycle. What can I do to fix this?

I have tried changing the bulbs and repositioning the insert, but nothing seems to work.

SOURCE: My FEBO electric fireplace insert makes a loud

It sounds like you have a bad blower, and may need to replace it. I would recommend that you remove the housing cover, turn the heater on and verify that it is the blower motor. If that is the case, then you will want to order one from the manufacturer.

It may need repairing, do not take risks trying to fix it without an expert. But its 4 years old so its better to replace it with new.

Is it that soud stay for long time, let say 10 minutes?
It can be some piece of metal moving when fireplace heats up.
If this fireplace has fan installed, small lousy bit of metal can play.

Sunbeam electric fireplace

Most likely sounds like the thermal fuse has gone out. if you take off the top of the fireplace you will find a little metal tube in front of the blower. This is the thermal fuse if it has gone out only your fan will blow and the heating element will not put out heat. You can pick one of the fuses up at radio shack for 3 dollars. the only problem is how to go about repacing it since it was crimped in and you can't use a soldering iron because it will trip it. If I come up with a way to change it I will let you know so far I can't.
