You may have something binding up. Check the roller, idler pulley and front and rear seals, also look in the blower, sometimes something can get sucked down in there and jam the motor. If all mechanical parts look good and spin free, that would mean you have a bad motor.

Testimonial: "Thank you for responding... Does this model have a Drive Belt do you know?"

  • eroes99 Dec 16, 2014

yes it does, not to common to break, but it is possible, also most dryers now have a belt switch witch kills all power to the dryer, so it is unlikely a belt. You can confirm weather the belt is good or not by removeing the top. There are 2 screws that are on the back side of the dryer top. remove those and the top will slide back and you can remove it. you should see the belt wraped around the drum from there. or a belt make where the belt was.

SOURCE: Clean filter light stays on LG TD-C70045E Dryer

I had the same problem. It actually has nothing to do with the filters. If your dryer sounds like it wants to start the capacitor is blown.

SOURCE: tumble dryer spins, but doesn't heat up

You need an ohm meter to do needed checks. Unplug dryer from power,,, then look for sensors and locate the heat coils. Using the ohm meter, check each device by connecting meter to the posts ( your looking for an open curcuit) Note that when you touch the leads of the ohm meter together, the gage will move? This is closed condition, and if the needle did not move, this is called "open". When you find a sensor or heat coil that reads open, that part is bad.
Now make sure there is not a tripped breaker in the fuse panel of the house,,, because even though the dryer is 220 volt,,, 110 volt runs the tumble motor while the other 110 volt curcuit runs the heat side ( so one will work without the other)

On the LG TD-C70045E the reset button for the heater is located inside the back air-way cover. This is easy enough to remove and the button is obvious once the cover is off. The button will 'click' satisfyingly if it has tripped. Don't forget to switch off and unlug first...

Most Dryers has a thermal switch that when the air flow gets so hot it will shut down the dryer until it cools down or on some models the thermal switch has to be replaced .. The most common problem to cause this is a restricted air flow somewhere in the exhaust of the heated air causing the dryer to reach too high of temp, which could cause a fire .. Hope this information is help full......

LG Tromm dryer dryer number DLG3788W is not heating. it spins and works perfectly accept it stopped heating yesterday. I took off the vent hose yesterday and cleaned out all the lint there, it wasnt too...

Either there is a fault in the power supply to the heating coils, or the heating coils have burned out. A multimeter will come in handy at this point to check continuity across the terminals to the heating coils, and to test current supply to the coils. Be very very careful since you are dealing with 220 volts. If you do not feel comfortable doing it yourself, call an appliance repairman.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Lg dlg2522w check filter flashing, motor spins,no

Did you put a load of wet clothes in the dryer and run it?
You can't change the setting while it's running.
The sensors won't let it heat up if there is nothing in the dryer.
This is not your grandmas dryer, this is a high tech machine.
There is probably nothing wrong with it.
Oh and the filter light flashes like that, it is supposed to, it is telling you to check the filter for lint.
