First make sure cylinder fins are free of debris; otherwords, good air flow around the cylinder.

Second try another known good plug. Plugs can fail when hot.

Third check for spark when it dies, If none present at this time then the ignition coil is failing.

My homelite 3316c chainsaw it seems the idle is off when i start it it runs full throtle

I would think that either throttle is hung open where the choke mechanism didn't release it or the throttle butterfly is missing.

I have a homelite 3316c when it starts up it goes full throtle it doesnt idle right is there a idle screw

There's a low speed screw and a high speed screw. There is also a tickover/idle screw. Its possible this is just screwed in too far. The high and low screws may have tamper proof covers on for emissions regs. Remove the top cover and you should see the screws on the side of the carb. H&L are side by side, idle is on the linkage to throttle trigger.

I have a Homelite UT 10520. It is a refurbished chainsaw. It has ru about 30min. It is running hot. My mixtture is 50:1 and my gas is 90 oct. I think it is running lean. It will not get to the max...

lI thinkthe oil to gas is too rich with Gasoline. My book says 40 to 1. Not enough oil will cause it to run hot and burn or stick. Also some of the later models take the synthetic oil andif you use the outboard or other oil it will run hot and ruin the saw.

I ;have on older homelite super 2 saw. can use the newer oil in this saw with the 50to 1 ratio?

There is no reason why you cannot run any two stroke on todays two stroke oils ( its not like four stroke engines where you use different oils dependent on the age ) however i am not sure i would run it at 50-1 i would be more inclined to run it at 25-1 as it is an old engine.

could be fuel lines, fuel filter, or your carburetor needs to be rebuilt. The carb has thin rubber diaphragms that get hard over time, hot weather, or stale gas. Need more assistance,

Runs well untill it gets hot. then cuts out

If it's the little xl model, it's probably the ignition coil breaking down when it gets hot and therefore it can't and won't be able to handle a load. Also, scarred pistons skirt or rings could also be some of the problem here. Make sure your mix for a Homelite saw is 40:1 not 50:1 like most saws are. Homelite seems to run better with a heavier oil mixture. Good luck.
