The code is for a door lock issue,it means the door isn't closing properly, most likely it will be the door switch, unplug the washer, remove the spring from around the outside of rubber boot, pull the boot off just on the side of the door switch enough just to change out the switch, put it back time send the model number,i could have given you the part number, good luck

Why doesn't it work until I push up on the door just a bit?

There is a safety interlock that the door actuates that lets the oven run. If the door is bent, the interlock switch is not in the right position and the oven does not think that the door is closed.

There is not usually an adjustment on the interlock stud. You might try to re-align the door.

My machine's cycle won't start. Lights all come on but there is a lock symbol which keeps flashing, bottom left of screen. ? the door but no matter how 'positively' I shut it - it doesn't go off.

the door 'interlock' has failed

it heats up to seal a door
when it cools down it opens
{either a bimetal switch and coil or a thermister and coil}
replace the door interlock
two screws and a plug ...

isolate mains supply and water
open the door
take the top off {slide two screws}
take the two screws out of the door catch machine side
reach down and unclip the interlock
pull the plug
put a new one
and replace the screws
check the door catches ok
if so
plug it in
place it to drain and spin
one the spin completes your sorted
and its a common fault

What is the de error message

Hi Prasanthi.
On front load machines, some manufacturers us de as 'door error'. This generally relates to a fault with the interlock mechanism.
This is the door lock which prevents the door from being opened while the machine is working..
If the door won't lock and/or the machine won't run. OR the door is locked shut, then this is the most likely situation.
The interlock switch is part of the electrical circuit.
NOT recommended for a handyman.
It's not a big job for a technician, and you will probably need a new interlock.
Good luck.

Interlock switches look like this.....

I replaced the door latch onour LG model LMV1630ST when Ishut the door the light stays on and the start butten will not work. all the other buttens work.

There is an interlock that is part of the latching mechanism that prevents the oven from operating when the door is open. In the process of replacing the door, the interlock must not have been properly set. Look for a switch associated with the latching mechanism, it should be relatively obvious what is going on.

Light stays on and turntable turns when door is closed and unit not in use.

see the diagram attached, and fix it. God bless you

  • Interlock switchIf your microwave is turning itself on, the first thing to check is the interlock switch. This is usually the first thing to malfunction that could cause this issue. If the interlock switch is bad then it will need to be replaced.
  • Main control boardIf your microwave is turning itself on and the interlock switch is still working, the probable cause is the main control board. If the control board is defective it will need to be replace

Everything works but it will not heat food

Check the door safety interlock micro switches. Others will po9int to the very expensive magnetron and it might be that but I don't think so. Still others will tell you that it is the capacitor ... and it might be that. If you regularly open the door while the oven is operating, the tiny contacts become damaged from the arcing. When the interlock switches can not longer tell the oven the door is in fact closed, the magnetron will not come on .. and there will be no heat.

It is probably worth removing the cover to check the $2.99 micro switches ...

    Make sense?

    Thanks for your question @

    hi billy

the most likely cause is probably the interlock switch has gained some play through wear an tear replacing it may solve it but first check that the door hinge hasnt been put out of alignment by the door being pushed open futher than needed. fitting a new interlock switch is relatively easy on most models might have it

    hope this helps
