We cooked pizza at 500 something popped and now our oven cooks but not right , any ideas

If you have an electric range, look at both the top and bottom elements while oven is cold. Look for a rough spot like a hole in the element. You may have just burned out one of the elements. Sometimes they go bad without any marks. Turn on oven to about 350 and watch the bottom element to see if it gets red hot. Then set for broil and watch the top for the same red hot glow. If either does not glow red after 5 to 10 minutes, that element is bad.

Oven will not heat up

This tutorial will show you how to check your Zanussi element and how to replace your Zanussi cooker element.

Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating

  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.

  2. If you\'re Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.

  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

The baking element in the oven does not appear to be working

HI.I would test to confirm the actual issue. This easiest test you can do is to turn on the oven and observe the heating element. If it glows red, the element is working. When baking, the broiling element may come on to assist with preheating or to maintain the oven temperature. When set to bake, if the broiler comes on, but the baking element does not, the likely cause is a burned out baking element. When set to broil, the broil element should glow red, but the bake element typically is not used. If the broiler does not glow, it is likely a burned out heating element.

Use This procedure below to confirm the failure.

With a multimeter, use these steps below to physically test for element functions.

1. Unplug the oven or turn off the power at the breaker or fuse box.

2.Follow the heating element back to where it goes through the wall of the oven. Remove the bracket that secures the element in place.

3. Unscrew or unfasten any stand-off supports that secure the element to the oven.

4.Pull the element part way out to expose the oven's wiring connected the element.

5.Label the wires and secure them in place so they do not fall back into the cavity.

6.Disconnect the wires from the element.

7.Using a multimeter set to x1, touch one probe to each of the element contacts. Expect resistance in the range of 20 to 40 ohms. Infinite or kilo-ohm resistance usually indicates a bad element and it should be replaced.

8.If the element tests okay, reconnect the wires, slip them back into the cavity and re-secure the element.

Oven element has small area that is glowing red when the oven is turned off. the area that is glowing red has a crack in it. is this just a damaged element or is the switch going bad

Hi, It is a bad element. There is also a change the element cause the switch to short out too.
Is this a top burner or the bake element?
If it glowing while the power is off at the switch, check and see if part of the element is grounding against the stove.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

The element sometimes will continue to arc inside after it burns out. It's 220 volts jumping across the break.

Grill not working fully Oven model 660W

That is due to expansion of the element making the terminal touch the chassis, taking the earth leakage trip out.
Get your oven repaired by a competent electrician.

Zanussi electric oven.

The problem is usually a contactor or relay. The thermostat usually doesn't directly control the elements. Follow the wiring diagram or look at the wires from the thermostat. they usually go to a small box and then to the elements The contacts may sometimes stick or always stick. This part is a lot cheaper than the thermostat. Another problem is a burned out element. (Usually the bake element) This can short to ground and not let it turn off. When the elements are on they should glow evenly all over with no hot spots. Look at the broil element also. It is usually at least part way on during baking.

Sounds to like the oven element has gone, the red light indicates that power is going to your thermostat o/k.
Check the oven element.
