You need to be more clear with your query to get an exact solution. Exactly from when does your phone says Emergency Calls Only.?
1) If your active SIM suddenly says such message, then either your SIM card might have been damaged or your SIM port might have been damaged. Try inserting any other active SIM card of same network and check whether it works fine. If so, get a new SIM card with same number from your network provider.
2) If you have inserted a new SIM card from a new network to your phone and if you get emergency calls only message, then your phone might be restricted to any specific network. You need to unlock it using unique unlock code. You can get the unique unlock code for your cell phone either from your respective network provider or from any trusted vendor online like SuperUnlockCodes.com at affordable cost with an easy unlocking guide. Good luck.

This is a normal behavior when a phone does not have a valid/working SIM card. Without a valid/working SIM card or even without a SIM card, the phone can still be used for emergency call.

I hope it helps.

See if you can get to the settings for Mode - most phones lock into "Emergency Mode" if a call is placed to 911. There should be choices for Normal, Airplane and Emergency.

My phone screen is saying emergency calls only

Emergency calls only usually means the company has cut off your service, usually for non-payment. If it was another problem, like no signal, you wouldn't be able to even make emergency calls. Call your provider.

What does ice mean and how do you use 911

Adding ICE ("In Case of Emergency") to your phone is a clever means by which emergency personnel can locate your next of kin when something goes wrong. This simple idea was developed by a British paramedic, Bob Brotchie, who recognized the need for speed when emergency personnel are trying to locate next of kin during disaster situations. Here is the simple way to keep your loved ones informed. 1.Open your cell phone's address book.
2. Program ICE - "In Case of Emergency" - with the name of your emergency contact into your speed dial. For example:
  • - ICE Bob
  • - ICE Mom
  • - ICE Mrs Crabby
  • 3. Let other family members and friends know. Alert family members that you have done this and encourage them to do so as well. This will help speed up responses from emergency personnel when they have to decide who to call in case of your injury.
  • To call 911, you dial 911 on your phone

My phone say emergency calls only

Most cell phones in the USA are required to always be able to call emergency services, as long as the device works. If your phone says 'Emergency Calls Only', you are either probably stuck on the unlock part of your screen OR the device is no longer on a active cell phone plan and you should speak to your cell phone provider.

Hope this helps.

Phone not workig after emergency calls only message

"emergency calls only" means your SIM doesn't get connected to the phone or you have EEPROM code corrupted. No way to make it work on your own - get your device serviced at the local repair shop.

I just replaced my cell phone & my old sim card, my phone try's to dial 911

Instructions
1 Pay off your phone bill. Some cell phone companies allow your phone to only reach emergency services if you have oustanding charges. Pay your cell phone bill, or add money to your prepaid account, to prevent your phone from just making emergency calls.

2 Cancel your emergency plan. Cell phone companies provide this feature free, especially to those who are 50 years or older. If you do not need the plan, then cancel it to prevent making accidental emergency calls.

3 Stay within your roaming area. If you travel out of your area, some cell phones and providers (e.g., BlackBerry, iPhone and AT&T) will only allow you to make emergency, or 911, calls.

4 Click "OK" and "Contacts." Navigate to "Emergency Contacts," or a selection with similar wording. Select "Disable." This prevents you from making accidental calls to 911.

When the key pad is locked the phone will call 911

Hiya,

This is a feature that all mobile phones, and some landline based cordless phones have. The reason being is that you should still be able to dial an emergency phone number even if the rest of the phones' facilities are not working. In otherwords, if you have a broken screen on your phone and you cannot see the display to unlock the phone, you can still dial 9-1-1 in order to get an emergency response. The idea behind this is to save life, limb and property. You may also find that 9-9-9 will work too (United Kingdom emergency services) and 1-1-2 which is the alternative for the UK emergency services. Obviously you should not be able to dial the emergency services in other countries from your location, but I certainly would not reccommend you try this!

Your only easy option to get around this is to turn your phone completely "off", but then; what happenns if you need it fast in an emergency? Also some very modern phones will still turn on and activate if an emergency phone number is dialled. Short of turning the phone off and taking the battery out, there is not a lot I would say you can do to get around it. Could you on the otherhand, ignore the fact that one day you or someone might need to use the emergency feature?

I am sorry in this very rare instance that I cannot find a cure for this particular problem, but that my friend, is something that every mobile phone manufacturer has decided is the best thing to include in design; and in this case I have to agree!

I hope that this is the fixya for you and that you never have to use this service in any way.

Take care and I hope you find a way to overcome your issue of the phone entering these numbers.

Yours sincerely

Oz

P.S.

Phone cover cases belt clips, handbag phone holders and also phone flaps that cover the keys are really your own solution that I can reccommend. Cost? couple of dollars from a store, check it out and hope it works for you!

I turn on my phone it goes to a screen saying Emergency Download

Wait does it say emergency mode only? If so this has happened to me many times on this phone.

Turn off the phone and remove the battery. In there will be you should see the SIM card. Pull out the SIM and put it back in. Put back the battery and turn on your phone.

For some reason on these phones the SIM card gets dislodged. When it does the phone won't work because the SIM card is what makes the phone your number etc. All cell phones, that have no service otherwise will be able to call 911. Apparently it is a law, so that is why your phone is on emergency mode. Without the SIM card the phone is a phone without service and will therefore only work in emergency mode.

I hope this is what you meant.
