I am able to log into Face Book without the error you report.

Try clearing your Caches and Cookies in your Web Browser. There may be something not quite right.

I hope this helps. Regards,

SOURCE: Keep getting this message: Account

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Just as what it says, Facebook might be facing unexpected issue and they need time to resolve the problem. Site maintenance can take a while. So, sit back and have a cup of tea and chill out. Try again in a few minutes.

If it's still unavailable even after 1 hour, ask your friends around to see if they are able to access to their account. If they are too not able to access to Facebook, Facebook might be doing something big behind that takes quite a lot of time. At this time, you must be calm. All you can do now is wait patiently.

If your friends can access to their Facebook accounts while you can't, do the following steps to ensure you are not browsing the old cached page:

  • Internet Explorer users: Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete... -> select only Cookies -> Delete
  • Mozilla Firefox users: Go to Tools -> Options -> Privacy tab -> Show cookies -> Scroll down and look for mediafire cookies folder and delete it
  • Google Chrome users: Click on the Customize button -> Option -> Under the hood -> Clear browsing history -> Make sure Delete Cookies and other site data is checked -> Click Clear browsing data
You see, Facebook has so much information that they have to store it on many many servers. When they do updates, they don't do it to all servers at once, or else it would create chaos. Not to mention it's harder to update that way.

Your facebook account just so happens to be located on a Facebook server in the process of updates and fixes right now. Be patient, you'll get back on. The same thing is happening to me right now also, and has happened before.

If you were truly disabled by Facebook, you'd get a message whenever you tried to log on stating that you were disabled by an administrator and to email them at a given address for more details or to get your account back. Trust me, I should know. A few of my friends were actually disabled before.

Sit tight, things will work out fine.

Is it possible you used another email address? If not then your account may have been compromised and the email changed already. I would contact Facebook support for assistance.

Facebook is not working.. what to do???

Facebook has become an integral part of many people's daily lives by keeping them connected to friends and family, which can make not being able to get on the site quite frustrating. Facebook does experience occasional downtime and other issues, but if you're consistently having problems accessing it, a browsing filter, firewall or outdated software could be the culprit.

Browser Requirements:

You may have problems accessing Facebook if you haven't upgraded your Internet browser in awhile. As of 2011, Facebook recommends using Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3 or Safari 4 for the best user experience. Updates to these browsers are free and can be found at the companies' websites. Some older computers may not be able to run the latest browser version and, therefore, have trouble displaying Facebook and other sites correctly.

Home Blocks:
Home computers also have tools to block certain websites; parents often install them to keep kids' Web activity under control. If this is your situation, you will have to talk to Mom and Dad about unblocking Facebook for you. If you have a PC with multiple user accounts, the "admin" is often the only account with permission to install or uninstall filtering software and extensions; you'll need to be logged into this account to change a filter's settings
.
Firewalls:

Many computers and their antivirus programs now enable firewalls by default. Firewalls help protect your computer from malicious viruses and software, but sometimes they block access to sites you legitimately want to access. If you suspect your firewall is limiting your Facebook access, check the settings in Windows' Control Panel or in the program that enables the firewall, such as your antivirus software or wireless router software. Making the settings more permissible could solve the problem.

Facebook is experiencing some problems since 5 hours ago, so this might be a problem. Try to repeat the action, otherwise you have to just wait, until it is all right.
