Older 3 ton unit. Split system. Power to fuse block, unit does not run. No noise, no smell. Model# 38CKO36300

If you have power to the fuse, and out the other side check to see if you have 24 volt out of the transformer, some transf. have a resetable breaker or fuse on the 24 volt side, no 24 volts nothing will work

Rheem furnace model RGDCO&ECBGR looking for a wiring diagram. trying to verify bad transformer

You don't need a diagram to verify if the transf. is bad or not, if you have a meter and you have 24 volts off the transf. between usually labled R or red wire low voltage, and then C or usually black for common its good.
There could be a fuse on the 24 volt side or a resetable breaker but you can check for 24 volt right off the transf. or at the first terminal the they land on and check voltage, Be careful you will be into 208/230 volt so be careful.
If the tranf. is warn to the touch at least the primary side is good if its cold or room temp. it either got no power or its bad. Good Luck

How many stars do we have in unnivers

Based on current estimates, there are between 200 - 400 billion stars in our galaxy (The Milky Way). There are possibly 100 billion galaxies in the Universe. So taking the average of our galaxy, gives approximately 3 x 1024 stars. So about 3 septillion. This has been equated to the same number of grains of sand that are on Earth.

One source (BBC) stated that there are about 1,000 stars to every grain of sand on Earth!! There are an estimated 100 to 200 billion galaxies.

So taking a conservative number of 100 billion stars per galaxy gives an approximate total of 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars. (Which is 10 sextillion)

The newest estimates gained by the Hubble space telescope places the estimate of 500 billion Galaxies each with about 300 billion stars for each galaxy.

Where can I find an antenna for this unit?

External FM antennas can be had for as little as $7 for the a simple dipole version (looks like a "T") to a highly directional outdoor type for over $150 at your local Radio Shack below:

http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kw=fm&f=Taxonomy/RSK/2032189&categoryId=2032189&kwCatId=2032057&fbc=1&filterName=Category&fbn=Taxonomy/Antennas

The simple $7 dipole is a "twin lead" 300 ohm type that many home stereos shipped with because they are inexpensive, take up little room in the box and work surprisingly well for all but the very distant of stations. These antennas are also found for sale in many department and some hardware stores too. Your stereo may not offer twin lead or 300 ohm hook ups (2 terminal screws near the ANT label) but only a 75 ohm connection (like your cable tv connections), in which case, you'll need an inexpensive 300 to 75 (terminal to cable) ohm balun (or matching transformer) like this one below:

http://www.amazon.com/Parts-Express-Push-On-Balun/dp/B0002ZPIOQ

or to go the other way - from 75 to 300 (cable to terminal) ohm balun like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/75-300-Ohm-Matching-Transformer/dp/B0002ZPIOG/ref=pd_bxgy_e_text_c

Can mp3,ipod connect to philips FW-R7 with cd

All you need to get them to play is a "dock" and a 3.5mm Jack to two RCA phono plugs lead.
The Jack goes into the headphone output and the RCA's go into any spare socket on the back of the unit IE tape/cd.
Infact you just need the lead, plug it into the headphone output of the Ipod or MP3 player. But the dock will keep the battery charged and you get a remote with the dock, so you don't need to get out of your chair, to operate the player.

TRANSFORMER BLOWN

Hi
Most  transformers have a thermal fuse fitted, this can be bypassed/replaced  to get the amp working again. Are you up to having a go at fixing it?

Technics SUV4X new class A Amp - 20 odd years old but lovely sound !!

Hi guys

Quick check... If the amp still stays in safety mode with the vol turned down and the speakers disconnected, it will have failed in some way. Since you have the safety operation light ON, you can expect that the power transformer is OK. I would expect that you have a DC offset condition on one channel. The most common problems you may have are
  1. dry solder joints about the power stages such as regulators, and output/driver transistors/IC's.
  2. blown output transistors/output IC with possible fusible resistor failures, and or sometimes burnt up printed circuit tracks.
  3. a voltage rail failure from a burnt fusible or power supply component.
If you are up with electronic fault finding, soldering and have the tools, have a go yourself, I could talk you through it. If not, I would suggest you contact you local HiFi specialist and find who can repair it or at least check to see what has failed for you. Good Luck. If you cannot find someone, hit me back and I will try to find someone for you. Cheers

robotek

Power supply

Possibilities: Transformer, reducing the input voltage to the components, or the power switch itself. Both can be checked with an Ohm meter, but first UNPLUG this unit, BEFORE attempting any repairs or testing. I know, it sounds like a lecture, but there are many who think it's unplugged and tear into it, and @*%!)${^%, they get a nasty shock! So, be safe first. Make sure the power cord plug is in your sight, both lugs are looking at you, and then proceed.
