Question about Pool & Spa

1 Answer

We are getting a FLO message on the first cycle of a two cycle pump on our Apollo Spa Cub. If we do not manually move the pump to the second cycle, the spa overheats with an HL error. Any suggestion

We have checked for air in the lines. It is an intermittent problem - sometimes it will work for several filtering cycles and sometimes not.

you must have a small pump call laing if you do, air picket inside the plumbing try to turn both pump on high and wait few minutes if doesn fix try to loose the nut just a little bit with the breakers off and let the air go out. try one more time. if doesn work turn on high both pump and touch if they are working then a impeller may be broken inside one of them try to turn each one separate to find wich one as t he broken impeller.

it sounds like your valving for the return water is set wrong. check to make sure that some water will return to the spa when the pool is running. It's a valving problem more than it is a filter problem.

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

It is likely one or both units have seized up over time without any use. You will likely need to have both pumps rebuilt in order to get them working again assuming they are salvageable. Start with mechanical inspections of both units. Can you turn the motor shaft by hand? If not, and I suspect you won't, the bearings need replacing and perhaps more damage will be present. If you can, look into the capacitor(s) on either motor or work from their looking for electrical issues.

Once you get this far comment back with what you find and if you need more assistance we can take it from there.

Aqua Flo Flo Master won't start on low speed

Water flow error on hot tub means low water flow. This is not enough water flow to turn the system on.
Some motors do have a start capacitor on them. you can certainly check that or take it to your local motor repair shop and they can check that for you.

Get Flo Message frequently and sometimes FIL2 message.

FLO is related to either a dirty filter or a clogged suction to the pump or possibly a pump related fault. FIL2 is the code displayed when programming the 2nd Filtration Cycle.

When I turn on the jets at the first setting it brrrr's but does not start. The second setting works fine and when the second cycle is finished the first continues fine. It is just when it first started...

Sounds like you may have a bad start capacitor that is not kicking the motor when it's set to run the low speed. If it just humms, it's usually a capacitor. It can also be the bearings but if it runs quietly normally, then it's probably a start capacitor. Hope this helps.

Fill the tub with water, disconnect the supply pipe to the pump and ithe head of water should push out any air

Make sure you can get the hose back on easily before you fill the tub other wise you are going to get wet
