Question about Panasonic Televison & Video

1 Answer

Do you think it is a coincidence that a thin vertical blue line appeared both times when the analogue to digital signal transition was occurring? After the first tower changeover finished it disappear

When the analogue to digital signal transition occurred to each of the local towers we had a thin blue vertical line appear on our 60" new panasonic viera tv. (TH-L60TD60A) In April it disappeared but in October, after disappearing and reappearing twice it is now permanent. Each time the line started on the day of signal transition. (Of course the panasonic repair rep we spoke to in April is no longer in business and Panasonic Customer Service don't want to know us as the tv is now out of warrantee, even though the problem originally occurred 3-4 months before the end of the period and was reported to their then rep.) Question: Do you think it is a coincidence this line appeared both times when the signal transition was occurring? The arial man was convinced it was the signal change but altering the arial has done nothing. The line is there with dvds now as well indicating a tv problem. Question: Has anyone else experienced this problem to your knowledge?

Thin vertical blue ink bleed line from bottom of Malaprop screen - Fades over time

Hello,

Yes, it's a screen problem. It could be a loose connection of the LCD and the motherboard or the lid lights gone bad. You can fix that by either resetting the connection of the screen and the motherboard or replacing the whole screen. You would need a technician to do that.

Cannot get good tv signal since ITV and other channels have gone digital in the last 3 weeks. The picture keeps breaking up and the sound goes intermittently.

The transition from analogue TV broadcasting has been painfull in some areas. the only way to get out of this frustration is to buy yourself a digital set top box . This will convert the digital TV signals to analogue form so that your TV can pick them clearly. In any case ,the trend is to have all analogue transmissions phased out altogether

TV reception band no longer works

all analogue signals going out means EVERY analogue signal is gone in the TV band. these are now apparently assigned to emergency services in some states.

Hitachi 42HDS69 Blue Vertical Lines

I think that you have dry solder joints on either the vertical scan board, the focus board, the line output stage, or the chroma panel. Hope this helps.

Thin blue line

I am a Sharp Servicing Technician. You posted this before. Ive got the same model TV as you do LC46D62U. I think the line you are experiencing is simply the broadcast. I notice it on some HD shows that broadcast the side bars. (Always on the Ellen Degeneres Show). Ive taken some picture.

1) Here's the line on the left that i experience

2) Later on in the broadcast, it goes away.

One way to check if its a TV problem or not. When the line shows up again, hit the MENU button on the remote. If the line appears to be "behind" the menu, then it is simply the broadcast.

If the line appears to be "on top" of the menu or shows right through the menu, then it is a TV problem.

Im thinking the reason it takes hours for hte line to appear is because it only shows up on certain shows or certain HD broadcasts.

Unfortunately the LCD is going faulty.. one or more of the "Driver" transistors that operates the LCD elements RGB, have faulted ON.. perhaps this link may help fix it. Otherwise :( http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor

Vertical, pencil-thin blue line appears after 10 minutes of viewing (any source)

I would suspect a connection breaking down as the set heats up. A shop will probably have to put the set in a stand to hold it while they check for loose connections or defective components inside. Not a DIY job by any means. If this line went completely through the picture either vertically or horizontally and stayed there then this would have indicated a failure in the Panel itself. A thin Line any where on the screen consisting of one pixel in width is a Panel Failure according to Hitachi.
