I have a whirlpool microwave model WMH31017AS1 it turns on but heat up is there anything i can do

All microwaves have a door open switch that keeps the magnetron from producing microwaves; this could be your problem. Most microwaves have a fuse hidden in the wiring that blows on overload like a lot of food spatter inside. They also have thermal overloads which may or may not self reset. If it died with a big flash you may be out of luck, if not you may be able to locate the fuse or thermal limit and replace it. Another sneaky part is a one time combination temperature and current overload called a thermal fuse:

Self resetting thermal overloads look like this Amazon # B00DM8JGQQ which is a Whirlpool part:
I didn't find a wiring diagram on line for your model, but you may be able to find one; whirlpool generally is pretty good with documentation. Most microwave manufacturers keep consumers as far from doing their own repairs due to the possible dangers involved.
Appliance Parts Store has a pretty good selection of replacement parts

Kenmore microwave hood combination, The fan wont

With the full model number, chances are we could have helped you more.
If the cooktop lights recently failed, it may need circuit board repair.

Or it may be a failed hood TCO.

Dead microwave!

Hi Kevin

If your microwave oven doesn't seem to work at all, check these:
Fuses Usually, when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician replace it.

Door switch If the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the oven can't work.

If still you are unable to diagnose the issue then it is recommended to call a local repair center for this to get fixed as Microwave usually have high voltage even when it is turned off.

Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Not heating

Hope you got a good deal, because you can replace all the microwave components for about $200.00.

It's going to be one of the following components -

1) Fuse
2) Diode
3) Capacitor
4) Transformer
5) Magnetron

Fuse is easily checked. If it's blown, replace with an identical type and rating. If it blows again, then dig deeper.

Diode is very hard to test, and cost is cheap. Replace it.
Capacitor is very hard to test under load, and is a little more expensive. Replace.

Transformer can be tested if you know what your doing.

Magnetron is not easily tested without harm to humans. Replace with same type or approved interchangeable equal.

Let me know your findings and I can help more if needed.

Model #721.66463.500 Kenmore elite microwave hood

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

When checking thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa:
