It sounds like your clutch is partially disengaged. Look at the large wheel on the right side of the machine there is a button or knob to push n turn OR hold the flywheel and turn the center knob to lock or unlock the flywheel. You will use this when you need to wind a bobbin and don't need the needle to go up and down while you are doing that.

How to get the needle to come up nothing will move on a 130 elna contessa

my sewing machine would do that from time to time, try turning the wheel hard enough to break the thread if it's stuck, if that doesnt work then try unscrewing the needle and turning the knob so that it lifts away from the needle then you can get a better view of whats going inside.

When sewing straight stitch the needle thread was looping up on the bottom now while trying to adjust, the needle doesnt grab the bobbin thread

You have a tension issue. Use the dial on the front of the machine. to turn the tension tighter.Use a double length of fabric and sew a little, turn knob, sew a little, turn knob. Continue doing this till top and bottom thread are equal and grabbing in the center. Good Luck... xo

Singer confidence 7470 while sewing the bobbing lifts up and makes a clanking noise the faster you sew. Any suggestions to this problem please?

It sounds like the bobbin is stretch. I fix mine taking a little screw driver (the one that comes with the machine) and turn the little bobbin case screw a tad to adjust the size of the bobbin carriage. Does the sound comes from the upper side of the machine or the under (bobbin) side of the machine? Did you oiled it correctly?

My sewing machine doesnt work?

What exactly is the problem. It doesn't come one? It won't form a stitch? "doesn't work" is way too vague to get help.

No matter what i set the thread tension at the thread lays flat on the bottom and looks fine on top????

Sounds to me like the machine needs to be rethreaded. There also could be a lint jam in the upper tension. Also....not all threads work with this machine. Did you try other types and brands of thread? Try a few different ones, sometimes thats all it is. If that still doesnt work then try turning the default tensions up to 6 or 8, just to see if the upper tension is at fault. It isnt the lower tension, unless you turned the small screw thinking that would help.

I cleaned just above where the needle goes in.  There was some fabric lint.  It works now. I used the little brush that comes with the machine
