Question about Hotpoint Refrigerators

1 Answer

Hotpoint quadrio fridge freezer just stopped working after 2yrs old. Happened over night, no lights, no fan or motor running. Plug fuse and socket work fine so I presume it would be circuit board stop

Fuse in plug good, wall socket has power supply, no signs of over heating or colour change on wires or leaks from cooling pipes.

SOURCE: freezer works, fridge doesn't cool

Probably excessive ice in the condensor. Likely defrost thermostat or defrost heater problem.

What happens is excessive ice keeps airflow from the refrigerator part of the unit.

Hot frame is mullion heaters. Keeps moisture from forming on door and causing rust. Sounds like the connector is defective, remove connectors and wire direct. If fan won't run then you need to call a qualified service tech.

I plug out my lexsor tv and when pluged back in it wont not come back on. I change fuse in plug also still nothing

Hi Katie,
Please have the power cord checked. Sometimes it goes bad while pulling out from wall socket. If that is ok then it is the power supply board which is not working.
Good luck.

O2 sensor what does it look like and how do i fix it

Looks somewhat like a spark plug sticking out of you exhaust pipe below the exhaust manifold and before the muffler/catalytic converter. It is not a serviceable part. It is though, replaceable. Use penetrating fluid on the sensor and let soak for a while (overnight is good) Be sure the engine (exhasut pipe) is cool, I like to use Movit - works well. Remove the wires going to the sensor and use a 6 point socket. Rock the sensor back and forth (clockwise - counterclockwaie) until loose - then remove (may need to thread it back in a bit to free the rust after each full turn or so). If you still have difficulty removing the sensor, you may have to use heat (propane soldering torch will do) to heat it up. When putting in the new sensor, use an anti-seize compound so it is easier to remove next time. Let me know if this helps. Thanks

No power problem

hello'

the problem might be from two set of place 1 from the fuse AND 2 from the wire which supply power to the heater of your wave

what you have to do from here is that unscrew the oven from it stroll trace the wire down to the heater it is silver in colour to see if their is any disconnection or borne wire
if there is any sign that there is a bad wire you will have to change the wire it self

but if the connection is OK then you can now check on the fuse and make change of it with a better one.

Good luck and thank for using fixya.

Hoover 0910dryer not heating. element replaced not long ago

Hi, the possible causes are: Possible Causes: The wall receptacle, power cord (plug) and electrical supply must be in good condition and wired correctly for the dryer to heat.
  • Supply Issue - Loose or missing connection on supply wire from circuit breaker.
  • Plug Issue - Loose or missing connection in the wall. Defective, worn or damaged wall plug.
  • Cord Issue - Loose, missing or incorrect connection of the power cord to the dryer terminals.
If gas dryer and does not heat, Gas Dryer heats with a gas burner, make sure the gas supply line valve is open.
Also, for electric dryer,
Electric dryers require two 30 amp breakers or fuses in the house electrical box to run and heat. If one breaker is tripped or one fuse is blown, the motor, the timer and lights can work but the dryer will not heat.

There is just no power

You need to isolate the problem, try the following:

1. Make sure that the plug is connected into a known working wall socket.
2. Check the wires. Make sure that the wire is not disconnected or loose.
3. Last, check the power supply of the device. Checking it might need an assistance of a repair tech.

If there are no loose wire connections, then the power supply could have gone bad.

Power supply light is red

This issue occurs when the external power supply has detected a fault. The power supply has several built-in safeguards to help prevent damage to either the console or to the power supply itself. The power supply will turn itself off if one of the following conditions is true:
  • There is too much current
  • The voltage is too high
  • The temperature of the power supply is too high
Under these conditions, the light on the power supply turns red.

Step 1: Make sure that the power supply is cool loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); The red light may indicate that the power supply is too hot or that it has already overheated. If the power supply light is red, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that your Xbox 360 console is turned off.
  2. Disconnect your Xbox 360 Power Supply from your Xbox 360 console and from the wall socket.

For more information about how to disconnect the Xbox 360 power supply, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 906205 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906205/ ) How to connect and disconnect the Xbox 360 power supply
  3. Let the power supply cool for several hours in a well-ventilated space. Do not connect the Xbox 360 power supply to the console or to the wall socket during this time.
  4. After the power supply has cooled for several hours, reconnect the Xbox 360 Power Supply to the console and to the wall socket.
If the power supply light is still red, go to step 2. Step 2: Make sure that the power supply is plugged in correctly loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); If the power cord is plugged in to an extension cord, a surge protector, or a power strip, the current or voltage that flows through the power supply may not be correct. Make sure that the power supply is plugged directly into a working wall outlet.
Step 3: Plug the power supply into a different wall socket loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry'); Try a different wall socket. Ideally, plug the power supply into a wall outlet that is elsewhere in the house.

Dodge caravan cooling and heating troubleshooting

Was the sludge Orange or more of a tan or brown colour? If there is a tan or brown colour sludge in the rad, this usually indicates a head gasket leak. I would flush out the cooling system and be sure that there is good coolant flow through the rad ( you should be able to see the coolant moving in the rad with the rad cap off and engine running) as well as no air locks in the cooling system. Feel the heater hoses at the fire wall with the engine at opperating temp. The hoses should be hot and close to the same temp. If not then there is a flow problem or a plugged heater core. hope this helps..Good luck.
