I had this exact problem with my Geforce graphics card. After ensuring that it wasn't overheating, I opened up the PC and reseated (removed and plugged it back in firmly) the graphics card. This actually fixed the issue. Issue caused by a poor connection probably due to too much dust inside the PC. Failing that, the graphics card would need to be replaced.
This is my fourth Vista HCx, the first crashed regularly until I updated the sw which fixed it, but soon after it blew an internal fuse and had to be replaced, the second worked great for six months and never once crashed but I broke the glass so had to send it back for repair. Unfortunatly Garmin will not repair a unit but will only replace it so the third arrived and kept randomly crashing after 2 to 12 hours use. I sent this one back and the fourth arrived this weekend, it crashed within an hour of getting it out of the box and switching it on. Everything at default just as it arrived. Have set everything up now and done all resets but it still crashes after 5 mins up to about 3 hours is the longest it has ever run for. I will be going back on Monday.
