I can not get the attachment function to work on my email sites to work?

Sometimes it is the size of the attachment that causes that. and sometime it is the email program. I upgraded my yahoo email to the latest version and that helped. sometimes there will be a pop up that asks if you would like to download the latest version. that might help.

Why can't I scan to email attachment?


Without wishing to quote the obvious but: make sure you computer is turned on and your email program is active. Also check your email program is identified in the printer settings. If you are working on wifi, you may find that the scan to network (and e-mail) function is not supported and will need to be cable connected to your computer.

Why can't I attach a word document to send through my email? The function works when I use my work computer, but it doesn't work on my home computer.


Your email program controls attachments, usually you have to ask it to get an attachment, then browse the files on your computer for the word document. Unlike the office email which may allow you to send emails direct from Word.

i think their is some problem with your Email Server or Email Setting so check with some technical technician if you havn't any technical knowledge http://www.apple.com/support/ . If you have nice technical understanding then take some guidance with
Apple Customer Service .

Hi Tim,

Can you please let me know the exact error message that you get , while you attempt to use the scan to email function?

May end users believe to scan-to-email to themselves internally, and then send it externally.
and the find it as a probably better option, as we get to preview the attachment before it goes out.

If you are using an exchange server then the exchange cannot handle the message size or attachment size, as well as when there is actually not enough space on the server probably it's full or near full.

Try setting up the email account again and then check if the problem persists, most probably this problem would not persist after a reset of the email account.

Ricoh 1232c scan to email SSL issue


no work around for machine. you can scan to a folder on the network, than attach your doc to an email. only way to do it on a ssl.

The scan to email function works with applications like outlook. If your email is web based like hotmail, you will need to scan to file and attach the files to your email.

most sites do not allow to send more then 10 mb.. solution would be.. try using the site called yousendit.com you can attach as much as 100 mb all you have to do put in your email id. and the email id of the person whom u want to send the mail.. hope this works for you. all the best

Web cam problems


Using MAPI ( Messaging Application Program Interface) with Microsoft Outlook Express 5/6:
1. Start Microsoft Outlook
2. Go to Tools> Options.
3. Click Make Default under Default Messaging Programs- This application is NOT the default Mail handler.
4. Restart your computer.

Using MAPI with Microsoft Outlook:
Microsoft Outlook automatically sets up your MAPI E-mail program during installation. Make sure you M-O Email app. is properly set up with the right POP account name, password, SMTP mail host account, and other requirements. For further assistance, contact your Internet Service Provider *ISP* or systems administrator.

Usin Web-based E-mail Programs to Send Files *aol, yahoo etc...*:
Web based Email programs don't support MAPI functions. If you click on the Send button, it will not work. To send email files, follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your web based email service.
2.Compose a new email message.
3. Depending on your web based email service, look for the Attach, Attachments, or Insert option to attach your file. You will be prompted to browse for the desired file you want to attach. Change the directory to where you saved your file and attach the files.

If you can scan documents in using the Epson scan, then there should be software with that came with the unit where you can select the option.

PLEASE NOTE: This function only works with certain email programs like Outlook Express that are installed to your computer. If you need to log into a internet site to check your email, this function will not work (i.e. Hotmail, Yahoo, Ymail etc...

If that is the case, you need to send it as a attachment from the program.
