Where can I find a driver/adapter for Advent X19W LCD Monitor?

It seemed Advent stopped supporting monitor. Monitor works perfectly well with XP, Vista & Win 7, but not with Win 8.1. I'm using win 8.1 and NVIDIA Graphics Driver 307.68 - both seems to be incorporated and updates with Windows update. NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE Adapter doesn't seem to be compatible with monitor; as when in use there's a blank screen with an "out of range" message. I uninstalled NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE Adapter and installed Microsoft Basic Display Adapter which seems to work, until NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE Adapter would re-download and reinstall itself and knocks Microsoft Basic Display Adapter out, then the blank screen with "out of range" message would return. Display detects monitor as 17" when it's a 19" screen. Also, unable to set monitor correct resolution 1440 X 900. Monitor only works on 1280 X 1024 setting using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter - any other settings it goes out of range. At present, I have Windows update set to "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them." This is because I don't want Windows to update automatically, as NVIDIA GeForce 7500 LE Adapter will knock Microsoft Basic Display Adapter monitor out... If I can't get proper driver/adapter for monitor, I would have to block NVIDIA from installing on my PC; but by doing so I think it may stop the graphics card from working entirely.

Where can I find a driver/adapter for Advent X19W LCD Monitor?

Goto device manager , uninstall the card. go into control panel and check that the driver is uninstalled from the programs list. Swich of the pc for a minute or two then reboot Windows updares does not download drivers for graphics cards so will not install or reinstall the driver that is causing the issue, 307? Users forget to uninstall from program manger in control panel which is why the card keeps reinstalling with the undesired driver.
Please let me know what happens

No image on laptop screen. off board video works briefly.

If it has XP on it, the fix is to invest in a new laptop I am afraid. It has passed it useful life and there is no support for XP. You could strip it down, but the Graphics card is part of the motherboard. If it was the exciter, the thing that powers the screen, you would get a perfect picture on a secondary monitor. It should display automatically using generic VGA drivers. Once you have the OS loaded on the monitor, you then customise to the monitor you have and then the settings. This leads me to to think it is the graphics on the motherboard. Try reinstalling Windows XP over itself. If that doesn't work, invest in a new one.

Hi im having a display problem after refomating my windows xp can you tell me how to installl a driver for my aoc monitor..i cant seem to find it and in my control panel it only list a

You need to install a better device-driver for the video-adapter on your computer.
When you do, that device-driver will automatically recognize your "Plug-And-Play" monitor.

Open "Control Panel".
Open "System".
Click "Hardware".
Click "Device Manager".
Expand the "video-adapter" part of the tree.
Double-click the video-adapter.
Click "Reinstall Driver".

Hi. I cant get a Polyview LCD monitor to display at full resolution in win7.

You need win7 driver which either POLYVIEW or Microsoft has it since it is too old for them to make one, they just want you to buy new monitor, one reason I am still using XP since it works perfectly with XP.

I have recently added a new Dell E171FPb to my computer .. I am running windows 7 connected to an onboard videocard (motherboard model : Gigabyte GA-8SIMLH) .. this monitor is only allowing me to view...

That is one of the reason I did not upgrade my PC for testing monitor to WINDOWS 7. This monitor is old and Dell will not make new driver for Windows 7, but Microsoft may be releasing the drivers later on since a lot of people is having problem with their perfectly working monitors but will not work properly with WIndows 7 because they cannot adjust the resolution to be at the native resolution of the monitor.
Microsoft WINDOWS 7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Default.aspx?type=Hardware

Not much you can do at this point unless you can try hacking the old Dell driver to make it works with Windows 7.

My monitor requires a resolution of 1360 x 768 but I can't change it in Windows Xp eu but I could before with others versions of windows

The allowed resolution does not depend on the Operative windows used (XP,Vista, etc.) , but on the video adapter installed on the computer and on the video card driver.

If resolution 1360 x 768 was supported before on the SAME computer with a different system, then you may need to re-install the video card driver.

If resolution 1360 x 768 was not present before on same computer, then the display adapter installed on this computer may not support 1360 x 768.
Check specifications on Google, download updated display drivers, and if nothing works, then buy and fit inside the computer display adapter supporting 1360 x 768, like the one here: e-GeForce 7200 GS TC 128 MB PCI-e Graphics Card

Computer won't recognize monitor driver

Its the usb, if u connect the monitor via the standard port, the vga port, it will work. If your monitor only have an dvi cable you can fix that by an adapter. That adapter should be an DVI to VGA.

Good luck to you

Drivers for the Acer LCD monitor X193W under Windows XP Pro.

The acer LCD monitor is plug and play. You don't need a driver. But unless you have a graphics card that supports at least 1440x900 you have problems. Also if your card has a div connection, use that instead of the analog connector, The monitor comes with that connector. Use the old one to connect a second CRT monitor if you want. Don't connect both to the lcd monitor and to the computer unless you are using a second monitor. Like everything these days, every purchase seems to need an upgrade of sorts, On board graphics **** anyway. Buy at least a 128 MB graphic card with a digital connector and more RAM never goes astray.....
