Check all the solder terminals at the video output card [CRT base card]. any loose solder there can cause this fault. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

54cm CRT tv tube green

CRT color television have three color "guns"; red, green, and blue. This is where the term RGB comes from when discussing computer CRTs. If you are getting only green, something is preventing the red and blue guns from working.

The screen is green and the tint option in the menu cannot be adjusted.

This symptom usually indicates CRT failure. Projection TV's, especially older types use 3 CRT "guns" to project the image on the screen. One is Cyan or Red, one is Green and one is Blue. If the Red and Blue become weak or do not project, the Green gun overpowers the output of the other two. These three "guns" are aligned exactly on top of each other so when all three are correctly functioning, the correct colors are projected on the screen.

The picture looks like a 3d picture without the glasses.

hi,
If the tv is crt one then you have to check the base socket of the three crt gun, red gun, gree gun, blue gun . If the picture looks out of focus then there is problem with the crt base socket. After a long time of use the crt bases connectros will get corrode and it will not have proper conatct with the connection pins of crt guns. you can see this base sockets in the base board on the neck of crt guns. Remove the base board and remove the sockets and replace with a new one. This will give a good picture. The crt base socket will look like on in the picture

See blue and red colours on screen on Sony rear projection tv

the green gun on the CRT does not functioning, possible cause maybe some open resistor or defective transistor that drives the green gun.

Blue Gun non-responsive

blue crt gun is dead... it has to be replaced. Check carefully the gun neck if theres a crack or damage, I'm suspecting  an overheating yoke ( a bunch of wires around or embracing the crt gun's neck), if theres a sign of overheating, you need to replace the yoke too, not doing it, your new gun will suffer the same fate of the old one, wasting your money.

I need a replacement part # and location for the "BAD-Blue Signal Video Output Transistor"???

Actually, your description indicates that the blue gun in the tube itself is shorting out. This happens when the set has been on for a while and the metal parts in the CRT guns have heated up and actually contact each other. If the video output transistor is bad then your screen would be blue right from the start. An easy way to prove it is to monitor the voltage of the blue pin on the picture tube socket. It should measure around 150 - 175 volts. When the screen starts going blue you will see that voltage drop dramatically. Quickly pull the CRT board off the picture tube while watching the voltage on the blue pin. If the voltage jumps back up the instant the socket is removed, your picture tube is bad. There are CRT rejuvinators that have the "remove short" function, but that has about a 50% chance of success and I usually find that the short will return a few months down the road.

Bad color .

Turn the set on without an antenna, so there is only snow on the screen. Measure the 3 cathode voltages at the CRT, red green and blue. If the 3 voltages are about the same, around 175 volts, then the CRT is bad (purple picture means bad green gun). If the red and blue are around 175 and the green is over 200 volts, then there is a chassis problem, usually the video output transistor itself has gone bad or come loose.
