Toshiba e-studio 650 have problem with adf that is when feeded a code c85 appeared

Problem with adf that is when paper feeded it starts automatically without pressing START button and after after an inch insertion a code c85 appeared i know that what this stands for but this is not motor problem may programming disturbed the actuall problrm is that why it starts without pressing START button pls guide me to fix the problem whether it is software or hardware problem. thanks

Unplug the computer for a full minute. Take out all paper then put it back in and plug it back in.
That doesn't work call or contact Toshiba.com

My Toshiba E-Studio 650 is displaying a paper jam in the copier. I have removed all paper jam and I have replaced sensor. What am I missing?


There are other sensors to check or verify that there is continuity in the wires of the sensor that you've removed

hi i thinku have to clean ADF pickup rollers with washig sope adn just dry with tissues it will solve yors problem if not just replace ADF pickup rollers

After switch on the toshiba e-studio coming uo


please do the following..
  • Open the ADF cover.
  • If shipping tape is present on the blue document feed-guide assembly, remove the tape.
  • Using the blue handle, lift the ADF rollers.
  • Remove the document.
  • Lower the ADF rollers.
  • Press the two tabs on the document feed-guide assembly to secure the assembly into the proper position.
  • Close the ADF cover.
  • Fax, scan, or copy again.

    Paper feed only works manual


    I think you have a paper jam or some other tiny objects like a paper clip or the like blocking the ADF(Automatic Document Feeder) roller. You should open your ADF and check for anything obstructing the roller. If you see something just pull it off close the ADF and turn on the printer.

    I have a toshiba e-studio 35. When copying through the feeder a line appears on the right side of the copy. Techs dont know how to fix it.


    "Normally" that is a simple problem. If it copies clean when you lay your original on the glass......but when using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) the copy has a black line then it is clearly something in the ADF scanner. Some machines use a strip of glass that is next to the large glass to scan originals when using the ADF. That strip of glass has to be clean top and bottom. Some models use a scanner in the actual ADF. Either way if it copies fine from the glass, the rest of the copier is eliminated from being the cause.
    Is your machine under maintenence contract? Then I would keep calling them until they FIX it!

    ERROR E 725 AND MISFEED IN ADF


    Most times on these machines the most common problem is worn document rollers.
    Cleaning them will improve document feeding, most times they have to be replaced espeicailly the lower ****** roll or ****** pad. These pads and ****** rolls will cause multi-sheet feeds when they are worn.
    Sometimes paper hole punches fall into the machine and cause sensor actuator arms not to go up and down, or just bearly resting on the face of the sensor.
    At times linkages will bind, paper dust on the sensors causes jams, sensor actuators bind and will pop off its mounting position Clutches will not work correctly, they slip and too fast for the eye to see.

    If there are further inside dissassebley of the ADF, this might take a service technition to look further into the matter for repair.

    I have a message coming up that I don't know what it means.


    ADF = Auto Document Feeder (Usually on top)

    RADF = Rear Auto Document Feeder, (On the back)

    Something is stuck in one of these, a piece of paper, foam, paperclip, twist tie . . . it could be anything. Follow the squealing sound and check the paper feeder rollers.

    Find what is in the way and remove it.

    ADF paper jam, when there is none


    If you are receiving an Error Code 103 or a Paper Jam error, but there are no pages in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), follow the steps below:
    1. Close the scanning application (such as PaperPort)
    2. Turn off the scanner and the computer
    3. If you have a combination ADF with a Flatbed scanner, unplug the ADF cable from the base of the scanner
    4. Plug the ADF cable back in
    5. Turn on the scanner power
    6. Turn on the computer
    7. Try scanning again
    For a Paper Jam or Error Code 103, make sure that the ADF cable in the rear is connected to the scanner base. Check the flatbed to make sure that it is clear. A page incorrectly placed on the flatbed may interfere with a page feeding through the ADF.

    If your scanner stops scanning due to a paper jam in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), a warning dialog box appears after a few moments.

    To clear a paper jam:
    1. Open the Automatic Document Feeder cover.
    2. Remove the jammed paper and close the cover.
    If you are receiving a paper jam error, or if the scanner is running continuously, check to make sure the paper sensor arm is not stuck down.
    1. Open the Automatic Document Feeder cover.
    2. Look for the small black plastic arm
    3. When you press on this arm, it should move freely up and down
    4. If the arm is stuck down, please contact Technical Support for troubleshooting options
    5. Close the ADF cover.
