When trying to login to www mywifiext net I get redirected to netgear

I had the same problem,my fix:
Connect your computer/laptop to your internet by a cable.
Connect to your extender via wireless network.
Then open a browser and go to www.mywifiext.net
Now it should load the page without redirecting.

I know this is a old post, but it's the top google link when searching for this problem. If someone would have told me, it would have saved me a lot of time and rage!

Mywifiext net

Connect a LAN cable from your computer's LAN port to your Netgear WiFi extender' LAN port.
Open a browser and enter www.mywifiext.net or www.mywifiext.com
This will get up into the Netgear WiFi extender setup.

The gui setup wizard is not popping up/opening and i cannot access www.asusrouter.com

If you're using Windows, plug the ASUS device in via wired (ethernet). Hit Start, then type in CMD, then type in ipconfig. Look for wired local area connection. Do you see 10.0.1.1? That's probably the ASUS. Now, type that in your browser. Voila, the GUI should pop up. It worked for me.
