Yes, you will need to replace the thermostat control to a refrigerator control. There are two types. I like the one that monitors the temperature in the evaporator. It has a sensor line a couple of feet long and is small enough to weave it inside the fins of the evaporator and typically has a setting of 5 to get it to control the temperature inside the case at a temperature of 37 degrees. The other type has a short sensor and monitors the temperature in the air around the evaporator. The former is typically less expensive.
