Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have a Worldtech WT 892BT car stereo but it doesn't let me play any videos even when the car is off. It keeps saying "warning you can not play a video while driving", but I'm never driving when I try to play a video. How can I fix this?

You have to wire the unit to your car to tell it when the car is parked.

Hook up your brake wire through a manual switch and switch on and off every time you turn your key on and off. Goodluck.

SOURCE: DP Video car system to play video

look at the install diagram(wiring codes) that came with the unit. if it has a wire that's designated for the parking brake (allowing you to only watch dvds while brake is engage) take that wire and instead of hooking it up to the parking brake, ground it or put an in-line switch between wire and ground so you can turn that function on and off. warning!!! watching while driving is illegal in most states

This is a problem with break wire. I too expierienced this. It is NOT a problem with radio. You need to ground the break wire in the harness. It is a protection wire so that it knows the emergency break is on. In other words it is supposed to stop you from watching movies while driving. Grounding the wire disbales the feature thinking the break is on. If you want to use the safety feature properly it should be connected to the emergency break switch that is grounded when pulled up or on.

SOURCE: video won't play

I don't know about stereo installation but a customer at walmart wrote this review so it seems it worked for them. Also I have an exact unit with the only difference being that mine is sold as "DP Video, model: DP432" but everything is the same as your unit and it works fine.

"I am happy with this product and it works great. I read before I bought it that a customer was dissatisfied because it had to be in park to work, but if you ground out that wire it works fine all the time. Clear screen and its not too small like some of the others I've seen. I would definitely recommend this product."

Anyways, my advice is that you have it professionally installed to get it right, if you did then take it back to your installer and let them know it's not working right.

What is wrong when a cd player goes and stops frequently and its not a scratched disk

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT and my CD player did the same thing, no answer for it but I bought a replacement off ebay for $30 and put it in and its been fine. It took about 15 minutes to swap it out you can find videos on youtube. But you have to get the exact model replacement or you may lose some warning beeps for example if you don't put your seat belt on or you leave your lights on. These trucks suck as far as the sound system because its tied into some of the warning signals as they play through the radio speaker in the dash. It is also tied in to a built in amplifier and to swap out the stereo with a aftermarket stereo you will have to purchase a $250 wiring harness to keep your trucks warning tones working properly and to bypass the built in amplifier. That's why I did a exact replacement.

I would like to watch a video in my car but it says warning must set park break & my park break is set but it still won't start.

Pull the stereo out and look for the parking break wire on the back, take that wire and ground it.

I was listening to the radio on the receiver. With no warning, the sound went dead. Now there is a notice in the readout window that says "DC OUT." The CD player won't play through the receiver...

This is a ground fault warning letting you know that it is protecting itself (the receiver that is)
it could be a fuse with a small crack (not normal) it could be a speaker has just blown or has started to go.

and most likely it could be the stereo itself and will need repair.

hope this helps.

My usb car stereo dosnt play all the songs on my kingston

Not every car stereo can play every song in a usb.

This deppends on how many songs and how many folders you have in your USB, regardless of the USB's capacity. My car stereo for example, can only play about 50 songs pero folder and i think it tops at 9 folders.

Try to organize your music in folders and change the names of the songs taking every "·$&%/&$/)(=)(( Symbol and non regular character out.

Or better, get your car's manual and it might say how many songs it can play. i think mine cant read over 1.5gb. if it doesnt say, you just have to try and work with it till you get it figured out.

The last thing i try and it might work:
Cut everything out of your USB, format it and then paste everything back this refreshes the USB and sometimes it works.

Sorry about my english.

Its illegal to watch a dvd/tv when the vehicle is moving so the manufacturer disables the function.. Usually by connecting a cable to your handbrake indicator or to your vehicle speed sensor VSS.
Youll have to find out which one it is. You can then find out how to disable it. JVC's normally ground the H/brake cable
