SOURCE: I got my daughter a cyber gear mp3 player model #

I encountered the same problem with the one I purchased for my 9y/o daughter. As it turns out, the player wasn't "technically" on. It was in "sleep mode". You need to do this Annie Oakley secret decoder ring nonsense to actually turn it on. You need to lock it, then UNlock it then hold the play key until it shows the little snowflake and says "welcome". Now if I could just figure out how to get the thing to play her songs...

When charging, the battery indicator will cycle from the current battery level to full. Once the battery is fully charged, the indicator will stop cycling.

Typically it takes approx. 6 hours to charge the battery from empty to full. (MMP8565 2GB Digital Audio Player)

How long should I charge my trio mp3 player from my computer?

Several hours, it depends upon how flat the battery was before you started charging. The player may have a battery indicator that indicates the amount of charge in the battery.

Hello,
To charge the battery back you want to
  1. Turn the power off the DVD player first as the battery pack will not charge with the power on.
  2. Attach the battery pack to the player.
  3. Connect the AC power adapter and the power cord to the player.
  4. Charging will now start and the Power/Charge indicator should now be orange.
  5. Do not unhook either cord until the Power/Charge turns off.
  6. Time of charging is approximately 4 1/2 hours.
  7. The battery pack will more than likely get warm while charging. This is normal. Keep it as much in the open as you can for the best ventilation possible.
  8. You will get a low power indicator on the screen when the battery has a low charge.

As for playback time you will get about 2 1/3 hours of actual playback and about 4 hours of standby with the DVD player actually on.
Regards, Tony

I have a Sansa View 8gb and the battery would die like within like 3-5 hours but when I connect it to my computer and go to properties I found that it was charged 84% what should I do about it?

What you need to do is let your player die. Then after it is dead keep turning it off and turning it on till it stops responding. This will run the player out of all battery charge. Then you will keep turning it on so that you can deplete the battery charge that your player sets up as a backup power. Then you need to plug it into your computer and let it charge all night. This will reset the player battery memory so that you can have full charge again. If this does not work your battery might be going out and you should look into either replacing it or investing into another mp3 player.

Trouble charging

1. Plug in usb cable to computer.
2. Plug other end of cable into MP3 player.
3. Turn MP3 player on using the power slide switch. The display should change slightly to indicate charging. (Mine has a picture of a battery that will fill and empty...) Hope this helps!
