How do I get rid of a page that comes up on facebook when I try to log in that says "Enter a name under 40 characters, under that it says "Please enter a machine name no more than 40 characters long"
We have tried asking facebook and they are no help, joined an association that I know that may have caused the problem. I type in my email and password the next box that comes up says someone may have tried to log into your account and gives the name and the IP address which is mine, I click on I know, the next box says save or don't save browser, I click on save, the next page that comes up in the upper left hand corner the following is there "Enter a name under 40 characters," underneath that it says "Please Enter a machine name no more than 40 characters long", there is no place to type anything, even if there was I would have no idea what name they are looking for. I can not get into my facebook account, how can I get rid of this page so I can log in?????????

i think your problem is very simple
you need to clean your temporary internet files folder and you need to delete cookies if you still need help i can remotely connect your computer and fix it easyly
create an account with yahoo ie sign up with www.yahoo.com and uninstall all the internet explorer tool bars and then install yahoo tool bar with CA anti spyware. its an work around if you are interested in free email stuffs and all. and don't worry all the emails from your hotmail account can be imported to your yaho account.
suspect your cable modem is looking for the MAC address of your compaq's NIC. if you run IPCONFIG /ALL on the Compaq (Start run, cmd <enter> then IPCONFIG /ALL <enter> , you can get the 12 digit MAC address.
In the router setup, there should be an option to CLONE MAC address, put in the MAC address of the COMPAQ. Then release and renew the IP address in the Router from the cable modem. The router should then get a valid IP address from the cableand you should be able to connect both systems to the router and surf.

If you are being blocked then it is likely that you are not entering the login details that Facebook is expecting, whether they have been satisfactory in the past or not.You could try this, go to the login page here:, Facebook
just under where you input your password you can click on "forgotten password". This takes you to a page where it says "find my account" where you can enter "Email, Phone, Username or Full Name". Try entering one of these (My email gave the best result for me) and follow through the instructions to reset your password so that you can access your account.
If this does not work there are a number of options here depending upon what you have lost, ie you can't log in, your facebook page has been locked and you can't change it, or it no longer appears to exist. first I suggest you edit you post to delete your user names. These
should not be posted (for your own privacy). You need to log out your husband or any other user.
On the blue header bar of the Facebook page there are a series of icons to the right of "home" ...
Go to the icon on the end that looks like a down arrow.
Click it to reveal a drop-down menu with the "logout" option about 3/4 of the way down the list. Click "logout" and you'll log out the active user (your husband) and you will be taken to a fresh login screen page. Enter your User and Password info to log back into your account.
Click the "Sign In" link in the top right corner of any page on Fixya. This will take you to the registration page.
Click on the blue "Create an Account" link.
Complete the registration form:
Full Name - This will be displayed on the Fixya website. Your name must be 4-12 alphanumeric characters in length
Email Address - This will be the email address we use to contact you regarding important updates, etc. We will not share your email address with anyone. See our Privacy Policyfor details

there are 2 ways to close or deactivate the account in facebook. here's how...

facebook. On the upper right corner of the facebook page...Click
account settings.. Under My Account at the lower portion of the page you will see Deactivate Account.... press deactivate.. You
will be asked again, just click Deactivate Account.. for confirmation a
verification code will put in the box and ask for your password to

The second way is to report that account to the facebook.... how? using facebook account of your friend......log in using your facebook account...do bad mouthing, vulgar words and post obscene materials on your friends facebook account....now, using your friends account log in ..on your friends homepage, double click your name to enter your own wall. Once inside your Wall... Find the "Report Page" button located at
the left side portion of the page under photos and videos..Click it. A
small window will come out..State your reason (example: racist, hate
speech) and then submit... you will also be asked to paste messages
from that person containing bad mouthing words and attach it on your
