The firmware update only adds the 15-second delay between pictures, so that shouldn't help with your problem.

Looking at the manual, the first thing I saw was the note: "AN SD CARD MUST BE INSTALLED FOR THE CAMERA TO OPERATE". Troubleshooting was nonexistent in the manual I saw online.

No Windows software is included; you just open Explorer, find the device and browse the pics there. Any USB camera or SD card can be read as another hard drive device.

Perhaps if you elaborate on the problem, I can find the cause. Have you tried moving the SD card to the computer, to read it, to see if it's collecting images? Have you tried the USB connection to a computer?

Testimonial: "I tried via USB and sd into computer no pictures. The camera us to take photos and you could see how many were take. I here the camera click as though it is taken the photo but you can not view it. I've formatted the SD card as instructed on the website however I do not know how to down load the Plot Stalker Software or the filmware. I don't even know how to upgrade software onto the camera. I am computer illiterate"

If vamera was working, and stopped, I doubt any software or firmware will help; it reads like a physical problem with the camera. The D55iR Pro software is available here:http://www.moultriefeeders.com/media/dow... and there is no firmware update available for the camera. The software is the same sftware you received on a CD. When run, it should give instructions on its installation and use. Note the name of the software and do a search for the name if you can't find the Download folder using Explorer.

Can't find software download.

You don't need the Kodak software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

QB pro 2005 and Internet Explorer 8

As with all evolving software (as the well written ones are), as you update one you'll invariable need to update others. If you want QB Pro 2005 to work properly, you'll have to contact Intuit for any patches to their software to make it compatible with IE8. I suspect that Intuit would rather sell you an upgrade to their most recent version of QB Pro (hence lightening your wallet substantially). If there's functionality in IE8 that you absolutely HAVE to have, you'll probably be stuck paying for the QB Pro upgrade. Otherwise, you can simply stick with IE6 or 7 (as you've already reverted back to). Sorry there's not a better answer.

Troubles Transferring, now power

You are describing a software and firmware update.
The software update should not have any effect on the camera start-up, but the firmware update could.
Please check to see if there were any instructions sent with the firmware files (like a Read Me file or release notes), which might give you special instructions for properly loading the firmware. Some manufacturers require that you hold down certain buttons on the device when power cycling to load the firmware.
Also ALWAYS be sure to have newly charged batteries of the right type, because a power failure in the middle of a firmware upgrade can ruin a device, requiring service.
Go to their web site to get details about the firmware update, if you are sure you did infact update firmware. Also, their tech support should be able to assist you with additional issues if their recent release is problematice for any reason.
Good luck.
