Question about LG RHT599H Black DVD Recorder w/ Freeview Tuner 500 GB Hard Drive, 1080p Upscaling, HDMI
Everything I can think of and that works on the Toshiba RD-XV47KB. I can't dub on it and the instructions in the manual are useless. I've managed to work out how to put programmes into the folders but how the manual says doesn't work, so I'm not suprised that the dubbing doesn't either. I've had a couple of techies (their businesses) and they can't do it either. So can it dub like other recorders or not - am I wasting my time - should I just buy another but I'll never buy LG again if I can't resolve the dubbing issue.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Been checking out my m/c and found that there are many -r & -rw discs the m/c does not recognise which gives rise to this problem. However the m/c does recognise VERBATIM discs and I have been able to record and dub to them with no problems.

SOURCE: dubbing VHS to DVD
You have to go into the Home menu and select setup. At the bottom left there should be an icon that looks like a dvd disc. Select that and then go to finalize and select that to finalize the disc. After that is complete it should play on any dvd player. I had this problem and I got through to LG's customer service line and had them talk me through it. After I finalized the disc, it worked.
