Re: Cannot get ice & water filter out in order to...
Try this. Shut off the water supply, and try to dispense water. This will eliminate water pressure on the filter and allow easier removal. With water pressure in place, you are having to try to overcome water pressure and requires a lot more effort.
If this does not work you may need to find out if your refrigerator manufacturer has a special wrench to help removal of filter.
Hope this helps.

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.
You did not provide a model number, so I am going to have to tell you where the water filter might be.
1.) On the lower, front bottom grill or toe plate, in the center there is a round hole. In this hole is your water filter. Grab the end of the cylinder and turn 1/4 turn counter clock wise and pull out. There will be some water in the filter. Slide the end cap off the old filter and slide it back on the new filter. Insert the new filter, push in and turn 1/4 turn clockwise.
2.) In the upper back right hand corner of your refrigerator section is where your water filter is located. There is a plastic cover plate around it, but you can still see the bottom of the filter canister. Reach in and turn the bottom of the filter 1/4 turn counter clockwise and remove. Insert the new water filter and turn 1/4 turn clockwise.
After installing a new filter, there is air in the filter. Run your water dispenser until a steady flow of water come out. You will get air & water spurting out.
If you only have a ice maker, you will have to manually cycle your ice maker until it fills.
The water filter change light is not tied into anything in your unit. It is like a egg timer. Even when the indicator light indicates to change you water filter, you only change your water filter when either the water coming out of the water dispenser is slow or you are getting small ice cubes.

I was unable to remove that dasher following the directions. When I turned the dasher counter clockwise it just spun and spun the motor. To fix this I removed the four screws at the bottom of the machine (hidden under gray rubber foot pieces) Removed the white base and held the clear circle motor wheel steady while rotating the dasher counter clockwise -it released in just a few spins. After reassembling the product the dasher removes per manufactures directions.
Hope others can get there machine fixed. I called Rival with this fix as well in hopes others could clean their machine. Thanks again to Laura at ifixit.com!
If it is the standard whirlpool, you find the filter on the bottom, sticking through the front kickplate. You grabb the knob and turn it counter clockwise, a quarter turn and then pull out. Install the new one in exactly the reverse order that you removed the old one. There is another model that has a button to the left of the filter that you have to press in and then the filter pulls out. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists
I have to assume we are talking about a refrigerator. The question listing is under blenders and if so that is one fancy blender.
On most refrigerators the filter is in the lower left side of the floor grill. The will be lable that says press to release. Then you turn the filter cap counter clock wise to unlock the filter. When installing the new filter you must swap the cap from the old filter to the new one then press in hard and turn Clockwise until it locks in place. (see the instruction sheet with the new filter)
Good day, Grasp the filter firmly and turn it counter-clockwise until it releases. Some water will spill so hold a small bowl under it. Install the new one in reverse order. Pushed up turn clockwise until it seats. It will take a while to purge the air out of the system, so be patient.
Fm, it's not threaded, turn it counter clockwise until it stops (should hear a click), then pull it out. Push the new one in all the way and turn it clockwise, you should hear it snap in. You may have to use a little force. If you are still having trouble, give them a call at 1-877-714-7481. Catriver.
