There are no schematics on the boards available. You didn't mention if you tested the diode. Just replace the board.

SOURCE: Micro is working only for 15-20 second

its overheating, the high temp overload will shut it off until it cools then it will let the unit work again. If it was the capacitor or the high voltage diode the unit would stop working, and not work again.

SOURCE: Maytag MMV5156AAS Microwave won't heat and has hum/buzz.

A failed diode isn't the most common failure, but it happens. And sometimes it's due to bad magnetron or a bad connection.

If the capacitor fails, it almost always shorts, which results in a blown fuse whenever you hit "Start" to run the microwave.

The magnetron on this model should have a 5-year warranty, in case that's relevant. Your owner's manual is here.

We have the service / repair manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

It will give you safety info, step by step help in disassembly, troubleshooting tips, and part numbers.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use for test help, but read their safety warnings first:

There should also be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts here.

T4512h diode

If it's not shorted and doesn't have a burn or chunk blown out, it's probably good.

Diode test info here:

Here's the battery-assisted test you're referring to (6V is okay):

JVM1650SH02 keeps shorting out after a couple seconds

> but he would also replace the capacitor and diod when replacing the mag tube

Most of the time replacxing them all is done due to ignorance about how to actually test devices, a mistaken notion that it's somehow necessary, or to pad the bill.

The diode may be necessary in some cases (if it tests bad) but the capacitor is almost certainly not needed.

When a capacitor fails, it almost always shorts. If so, the fuse would blow when you peress "Start" to begin cooking.

I've rarely (if ever) seen one fail without shorting.

If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then GE manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

If you're doing this yourself, G.E. will send you the magnetron to do it yourself. Call them at 888-239-6832.

Be persistent. You may have to speak with a supervisor.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

If it makes a humming noise it is the magnetron or diod or capacitor.
