I have just had a brand new bathroom fitted. The first time I stood in the bath I heard crunching noises like popping crystals. The bath engineer said it was delaminating. How should this be dealt with?...

You shouldn't hear anything...............I think as your bath engineer didn't use cedar shims under the pertinent points of your bath to make it stable taking in to account, the drainage of the unit as well.............Hope this helps.

We can not get the base tight to the seat. We have no more strap left after pulling up with our knee pressing down on the base.

A huge saver for me was placing a foam "Swim Noodle" under the base of the car seat to take up the slack so that you have a tight and secure fit of the base in your car. You can easily cut one to size. One thing they don't tell you is that not all car seats are a good fit for all car models. If you do not have any foam noodles a rolled up bath towel may do the trick as well. I have tried both of these methods upon the suggestion of our local police department that helped me when my son was an infant. Good Luck.

Could you let me know what i need to do, having fitted a new bath, to tile around the bath.Do I have to make up a frame

make sure the tub has a lip around the two sides and back if you plan to use it as a shower, otherwise you will have water leaks. yes you need to build a standard frame whereever you plan to tile, use green or blue moisture resistant drywall as well. you will need a sturdy base for tile or the grout lines will crack and let moisture in which will eventually cause the tiles to loosen. you can be creative though and build in a shallow shelf to hold things etc. just keep the moisture un mind if it will be a shower and use appropriate flashing if needed.

Bath waste

! goes over the threaded piece that screws into the piece that goes under the tub...and the other goes between the tub and the waste assembly thereby creating a sandwich with one on top and one underneath the tub....then screw the piece down tight through the tub and into the waste assembly and your good to go.....

Good luck and thanks for rating my effort.....the Fang.

Waste trap under bath leaks

put the putty under the flange where it makes contact with the inside of the bath, push the flange to the bath & tighten nut underneath. Trim off excess. Have an overflow pipe [not intergral] make sure the top & bottom of the collar have rubber seals
If the whole lot is plastic there may well be a leak down & along the thread of the waste.[it comes from the o/flow pipe collar] Silicone the thread and tighten nut. make sure it's dry first - silicone & water do not make a happy couple

Had new mixer taps fitted on sink and bath (water pressure was fine hot and cold before) but now have very low pressure on hot water. can anyone please help, as its taking 35 mins to run a bath.??????

can you check some other source of hot water? if the pressure there is ok?..if it is, then the problem is on the new tap that you fitted.
