Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I dont have a sound system or a home theater and i wanna use my magic sing directly connected to my new LG smart tv. I didnt see the video(yellow), red/white(audio ports on the back but in the tv kit, there's a tiny "Y" adaptor that i thought is for the audio & video cable (red/white,yellow) of my magic sing. So i connected them and plugged them to that tiny port at the back of my tv. It did produce the sound and the video but when we use the mic to sing, it produces a sound delay..this idea worked with the older TVs but not on my new tv with a tiny port on the back.. how can i fix it without buying a sound system?

Need to hook up LG tv to phillips cd/4 head hi fi and RCA surround sound

Hello!
Ok: I will guide yourself through "hook up" process.
1. connect your TV set to your VCR, using 3 wires RCA cable(Yellow, red, white) to "Video1" input, yellow only! The other 2(sound channels) connect to "home theater/DVD unit. Use "aux" input.
2. Connect your DVD video output. yellow or 3 colored( green, blue, red) component cables to your TV's Video 2 or "component 1" input.
Now you'll be able to use your TV as a video monitor for your VCR and DVD.
The sound will be handled by DVD/Home theater. In case your TV is a very modern, all you can get out is: direct digital sound stream. Your home theater must be equipped with coaxial(orange) input(looks like RCA plug) or optical input. Or both. You must use proper cables to connect TV to Home theater.
sorry, but it requires some patience and thorough reading of user manuals.
Otherwise, it's "level 1" difficulty. nothing you may damage, due to installation.
Good luck,
Feel free to ask for more help, if needed.
thanks,
Alex.

To listen to Tv program sound through your home theater system you will have to connect a pair of RCA to RCA cables (Red and White pair ) from the audio out socket of the TV ( some times three sockets Yellow/Red/White labeled Monitor out. Ignore the yellow as it is video out ) to the Aux or CBL/Sat input of the LG system. Then to listen to the sound through your LG HT system switch the Input selector of the LG to Aux or CBL/SAT. Will work for sure.

DON"T MODIFY the cables. Every conceivable functional adapter already exists.

The red and white are intended for analog stereo audio. Your TV doen't actually NEED audio, does it?

The single yellow wire is intended for composite video. Your TV needs this one.

I have connected the Magic Sing to a HD TV and a home theatre system and now get a sound-lag between the voice and the sound on the home theatre. Any ideas?

You need to connect directly the sound wire of your magic sing to your home theather while the video wire of your magic sing directly to your hdtv. If its difficult to do because of distance, buy an rca extension to extend your magic sing wire to make it reach to the other end.

2-second delay with Magic Sing

i bought et18k. just the same as yours.its 2 days old and has the same problem. the technical assistant says that its because of the digital setting that new tvs have. there are two ways to solve this though:

1. connect the video (yellow plug) to the tv. and the other two plugs (yellow and white) to the stereo. when i say stereo, its not the dvd home theater system that you have but a separate one. if you connect it to the home theater that you have, it'll just sound the same, you still have the delay.

2. connect the magic sing to the older tvs hangin out. and you'll get no problem at all.

**TVs such as sony, samsung, philips, sharp and all plasma tvs including other newly designed tvs will have the delay since they all share the HDMI thingy that causes sh*t.

Magic (karaoke) mic sound delay problem when connected to HDTV

Ok..I found a workable solution. Essentially using my HDTV only for the lyrics(video output) and using a RCA to stereo mini plug cable to send the sound output to my amplifier that has a analog stereo input. Works like magic. No delay. It went from being unusable to WOW!
