SOURCE: Broken needle threader?

Hi - welcome to FixYa. I have this machine, and unfortunately, the cassettes can break. If the threader worked when you first got your machine, I would suggest buying a new cassette (even if your threader is working). A second cassette is very handy because you can thread your next color in the extra cassette before the machine stops for the next color change - when the machine does stop, just put in the second cassette, and thread the other with the next color - speeds things up alot. And, if one of the cassettes does break, you aren't sitting in a puddle waiting for a new one.. You can find the thread cassettes for sale on a variety of sites - this is where I buy mine:

http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/stores_app/Browse_dept_items.asp?Store_id=492&page_id=17

Some of the 270Ds came with a spool pin - look in your manual for a picture and for the instructions for installing and using the spool pin. You can use it for spool of thread that are too large for the cassette and I think you can leave it installed on your machine all the time. If you don't have your manual, leave a comment and I'll look mine and check the instructions.

Hope this helps. If you have a minute, a rating (good or bad) tells me if the information or solution I provide is helpful to anyone who visits FixYa.

If you would like me to write a tip on salvaging an embroidery project that has been pulled into a birdsnest, leave a quick comment and I'll add the tip. Thanks everybody, and good luck. Please feel free to comment if you need more help or have more questions.

SOURCE: Janome MC 10001 auto. needle threader stuck in up position.

You are threading the top of the machine incorrectly.

Make sure the needle is in correctly with the flat side to the rear of the machine, make sure to thread the upper and lower portions of the machine correctly. If this does not solve your problem, please respond.

SOURCE: janome 1860 needle threader

If the hook is bent, you might be able to straighten it, but I would go to my dealer and purchase a new threader. It is much easier to replace it.

Needle threader on my Janome 500E is stuck. I'm fed up with it or can I fix this myself or do I need to go to the repair shop?

Needle threaders tend to be problematic on most/all sewing machines, usually because they are so fragile. It may be bent, rotated, or even broken. You can probably take it for service.

Here's a hint for manual threading: Lick your index finger, swipe it across the back of the needle eye, then aim the thread point just above the needle eye and slide it down. Usually, it will pop right through.

The needle threader on my Janome 6260 quit working. The needle is inserted correctly.

Is the threader broken or just not meeting the needle eye? If broken, it can most likely be repaired.

If the threader is not meeting the needle eye, adjust the needle height so the threader meets the eye and intercept the thread. I have a 60's machine with a threader that needs the needle height manually adjusted because the needle does not stop in any particular place. Usually, if I raise the needle to its highest, the threader will work.

Automatic needle threader stuck

You may have a thread stuck in your bobbin area. Remove your bobbin, brush gently with a clean soft brush to remove dust and/or thread bits, then gently wiggle your hand wheel back and forth, and brush again. This should free up your machine.

My janome 11000 memorycraft's needle threader has jammed in the down position and cannot be moved

Thanks to floraq803, we have our 11000 working again. The needle threader was stuck in the down position. We turned off the machine, and turned the wheel (which controls where the needle is) until the needle threader bar was straight (approximately 1/2 way between the needle being all the way down and all the way up). Turned on the machine and the threader came back up again. Now back to sewing.

Cant make the auto threader work on an elna 2007

Do you mean the auto needle threader?

Mine won't work on very small needle sizes so I resort to the old manual needle threader for these. Ditto for twin needles.

Otherwise its a case of pulling the auto threader down so the hook swings into the needle eye, then pulling the thread over the face of the needle and catching it into the hook, then release the threader so it pulls back through the needle eye, taking the thread with it.

The only other thing that springs to mind is "is the needle at the top position in its stich cycle so that the threader lines up with the needle eye?

hope these ideas help a little.

Automatic Threader Never works

lever the auto threader slightly back and pull down- if it doesnt pull down adjust the needle up or down slightly. Once it is down behind the needle, place thread under far left of threader then pull across to far right and hook behind tiny hook. Sounds complicated but not so when you get the basic action. Release and guide back up and the thread should be thru the hole and looped up bahind it. Hope you get it.
